View Full Version : Newly minted restricted rider

I just had to crow a little bit, today I passed my restricted test and feeling pretty stoked. Did it in Paraparaumu, was much more straightforward than I had expected but good to get it done

Wanted to thank Ross Gratton for all his assistance on the courses I have taken (Wgtn Council and ACC Ride Forever) plus the one on one session he provided for me. Thanks for the great instruction!

Biggest thanks however must go to DrDarkMatter (Nick) and OneOfSix (Trevor) here on KB. They have taken me under their wings and patiently brought me from zero to hero in the last six months. All the kms on our regular commute to Wgtn and our weekend rides are paying off. Thank you fellas for enduring with me and covering my backside when the idiots are on the road!
To the other novices out there, get yourself a good mentor (or two). There is always heaps to learn including how to take all the piss-taking on the chin, it keeps you humble and more importantly good advice keeps you alive!

Next stop the full licence :2thumbsup

what a fucking waste of money.
you know, after all that submitting, paying, and shit: you still don't own the fucking thing?

thanks for joining in the conversation Akzle

ownership is a funny thing, I actually subscribe to the idea that we don't actually own anything, including our caravans.
We have a short period on this planet, we bring nothing with us, take nothing with us so what can we call truly ours?
I choose to live here and that costs money, I don't own the money either so I don't really give a flying f*** about paying and shit....

well. you're halfway there, but you trade your precious precious time here, for money, to get shit.

the point i was making (asides from the fact that half of what you "earn" is removed just as quickly, as "tax") is that you use that jew-currency to pay some other jews to "give you a license" - a nasty little device that they convince you a) you need and b) is you.
and when you're asked for "your" license? then what? most people hand some plastic over... but you dont own it (by legislation).. so. isn't that fraud?
do you agree with the whole system? do you agree with the "road rules"? as long as you're travelling under the jurisdiction of that license.. you're buying into the game...

yup, I like to call it accepting reality over a dreamworld. So in the Utopian existence which you seem to aspire to, we should have the freedom to choose to opt out, presumably you afford me the right to choose to opt in?

Sure I trade my time for money. What I do with my time is pass on knowledge which has been passed to me prior to that. If that's enough to let me do what I want, I am content, just checking that's ok with you?

Anyway, this thread was supposed to be about me saying thank you to those I feel have helped me do something I wanted to. Don't see any jews having anything to do with that.

Maybe I don't consider myself ready for that yet and it doesn't bother me?

Its a shame my positive vibes from today don't seem to reach all the way up there to Akzle-land, sounds like you are a bit sad and grumpy. Ah well, shit happens.

Stop biting lad.

Now go say ten hail mary's and and an our father, so that you may see the day you get a full licence.....okay I'm just joshing you.

Well done on the restricted licence.

Good on you for having good mentors, the ones I had when learning helped me get through the early years of learning.

One piece of advice, having a restricted doesn't make you a better rider and no amount of high vis, loud exhausts and flashy gear and colours will save your butt on the road. Best way to survive is common sense, paying attention and defensive riding. Why do I say this, I've seen too many people get a restricted and then get hurt (same for full).

Sorry for the downer, well done.

yes, you have every right to do whatever you want, as long as it doesn't fuck my day up.
it just seems you've been tickled by the idea that maybe shit innt quite right, and that maybe you should do more about it, but again, that's your free choice not to, apathy is how things have gone this far.
i hope you never,
ever do >101 km an hour because that would make you a fucking hypocrite. (and breach the conditions of that license....which is illegal. so you'd rightly have to put some money into the donut fund.)

Okay, so finally you've said it.

You expect to do stuff, even if it stuffs someones day up. You've shown that to be your attitude by so many things you have said.

Then you grant others the right to only do stuff as long as it doesn't stuff your day up.

How's your day going, Mr Double Standard?

Yeah mate .. I agree with you .. however I have found it easier to at least act compliant ... say under the radar and stay out of sight ... in the end it costs less money (fewer fines) and I get left alone to do what I want ... I haven't spoken with a cop in anger in months ...

You go for it .. I can't be bothered bucking the system that much any more ...

neither. but strangely enough, nothings changed, i still speed, drink n drive, ride bikes, operate a motor vehicle in a manner so as to cause a sustained loss of traction, drive trucks, build, wire and plumb houses, have guns, smoke drugs, kill hookers (seriously, why has no-one followed up on this?)... there's just less cops involved, which is a good thing all round.

Mine.

Buy I guess you'll take that as a win

not really. when have i ever fucked your day up rasty?

fun fact: i NEVER want to talk to you, or your associates. it's you dicks who insist on talking to me. even when i quite emphatically tell you that i don't want to talk to you and nothing to fucking do with you, you keep trolling out the same lines.. "can i see your license?" "you need a license" "why don't you have a license" "you're failing to produce a license" "you must identify yourself" "who is the car registered to?" "why isn't it registered?" "you're obliged to x, y, z..." "is that a bong?" "i have more rights than you" "it's not my job to know statute" "you're under my jurisdiction"
etc
etc
et fucking cetera.

and your reasoned response....

Its a tad disingenuous to twist what I said to suit your purposes, please refrain from doing so.

I was saying thank you publically to people who have helped me achieve a better (not perfect or even high, just better) standard of riding, nothing to do with money.

For someone who resents being policed and having laws and social conventions forced upon them against their will (I hope I have represented you correctly) you seem very happy to police the thoughts expressed in posts here and to foist your opinions on those who do not want them. Just sayin.....

Have a nice day

you're welcome to do with them what you will. you're under no obligation to believe what i do.
i lay out facts as i see them. i trust that people aren't so stupid they can't decide for themselves. i'm also not sending my homies out to pull you over and tell you about them, then bill you for the 'service'

the license, was to do with money, and money is to do with jews, so it does all tie back in.

what part of me saying thank you to people for helping me, not being related to money, isnt making sense to you? These guys helped me regardless of my taking a licence test, they helped me improve my riding, I acknowledged that and thanked them. Why twist something to align to your outlook?

Congrats, just keep going for weekend rides etc and stick to the basics and you'll easily pass your full license test also. I just passed mine on 5th of this month and it was a pretty straight forward 30 min test, nothing to worry about just ride it normally and stick to the rules..Have a look at the link below also and it'll give you all the pointers that'll help you with your test. Good luck:
