Hi All,
I'm looking for a used drive shaft for R1100GS, 1994. Its interchangeable with most of the different R models, even the 2002 R850R apparently.
I found some in the UK but shipping is over $200! Hoping to find something closer to home or a lot less costly to post.
Any info appreciated.

Try shipping it with Youshop? to a UK address, then on to NZ?
Mind you, as long as it is within the weight guidelines and volumetric sizing, it might be cheaper?
Bit of a lottery though...
Good luck. Hope you find something.

Including the shipping to NZ? You won't know that unless you REALLY know the weight and volume of the package? As I said, there will be the cost from UK - NZ to factor in as well right?

Question Whats gone wrong with the old one. I may be interested and help offset some of your costs.

Thats (approximately) the cost to ship from UK to NZ. I got the weight and boxed dimensions from the supplier so don't expect the price to vary from that. Youshop (NZ Post) have set prices for parcels falling within certain ranges and this one falls easily into the $40(ish) category.
The only thing now is that the supplier thinks he needs to charge me VAT because he's shipping to a UK address. I'm sure there must be an exemption for this since it's a service of the NZ Post, Just have to make a query or 2 to find out for sure.

The universal joint has come apart. The u-joints are pinned in so even if the yoke isn't trashed it still takes a machine shop in order to swap out the u-joints and that's if they're of a size that you can order from a catalogue and not have to do any machining to get a standard part to fit....
Apparently there's a guy in Canada that does this but his work costs as much as a new driveshaft. He machines groves for retaining clips so at least you can swap out the u-joints periodically.

I sent them an email and never got a reply.
Too late now, I'm happy with the one I found in the UK. Low kms and from an 850 so should be in quite good nick.
