View Full Version : Movie night: Worlds Fastest Indian

Hey guys,

After seeing the Burt Munro piece on Fridays "Campbell Live", I figure the release of this movie will be a great opportunity for a bunch of us to get together and have a night out. It premieres on the 13th of October, so I figure Friday the 14th @ ~8pm might be the go. If we went to the St Lukes mall cinemas, we could also get some of the Chch crowd to head down to thier mall that has the Telecom video link in it and we can do a group hello between the islands.

Lets get some ideas of numbers, then we'l firm up a date and can see if we can get a discount.

I'll post a poll nearer the release date and we can take the majority for the date.

I like the idea Kray. I can just imagine on lookers as a group of riders wearing their leathers and stuff crowd around a video monitor and say hello to another group somewhere. We can fake a gang war? Lol.

Just kidding, sounds like a good idea, I was wanting to see that movie too

We've got a Telecom video screen thingy in Courtenay Central here in Wellington, where our Reading Cinemas are situated.

I think we can see both Chch (Riccarton Mall) and St Lukes screens here.

Are you sure Friday is the 11th?
Oops...the Friday is the 14th. I thought it was the 11th as the Village site reckons the film would be released on the 10th and usually they do new releases on a Thursday. As I said, we'll do a poll on what day (night) will be the best for all anyway.

I just got back from the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie - very weird, didn't like it much at all. My younger siblings enjoyed it though.

Anyway, saw the trailer for the Fastest Indian, it looks cool. What theatre are we going to? I'd be keen, providing there is adequate free bike parking...

For the record.

Friday the 14th of October. movie starts at 8:45 on the megascreen.

sometime shortly after 7 a few of us will be at the playhouse which is on the Aotea Square side of the Imax complex with an entrance on that side. We will be having dinner and a drink (more or less)
Free Bike Parking is Under Aotea Square.
those of you on my list are those who have booked the cheap tickets which are all gone now. there are other kiwibikers going to the movie that didnt get in time for the cheap tickets.

The seating is allocated.
Dont drink too much beer or you will need a wizz halfway though the movie and that wont be good.

Oh and fish, your not invited, and I've warned security that someone that looks like you is planning on blowing up the planet hollywood resturant for some religous reason.

Drop it onto a frying pan, after marinating it in a bit of lime(not lemon) juice, 1/4 tablespoon of fresh green chilles, 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon of cummin seed powder, a very small pinch of red chilli powder, salt&pepper to taste and battered with semolina. Shallow fry until done on each side. Slightly sear both sides first to trap all the juices in.

Goes great with a fresh green salad with a lemony or/and olive oil dressing and some lemonade or light beer. Accompanied by some toasted french sticks with a herb butter spread. :niceone:

All parking in the city is free at that time. It's only security against vandalism that you have to worry about, theft is a much more remote possibility.

I went and saw it yesterday, the 1pm session at Reading...there were only about 6 people in the whole theatre. I found myself grinning from ear to ear most of the time. What a fantastic man!!! A great movie! Wooooo hoo!

I saw it yesterday with a few mates. We made our bets on how many times the word "mate" was going to be said. I was closest on 20 when the final tally was 18. :D
