I am planning to cross this ride off my list this summer. Looking to depart Hamilton and spend the night at the backpackers at Maraehako before going round the cape to either Gisborne or even Napier for the second night. Back to Hamilton on day three via Napier-Taupo road. Probably looking at backpacker type accommodation to keep the costs down. Any date after the 19th is good so I'm thinking of doing it from Monday the 20th to Wednesday the 23rd.

If the weather is great, we may even add another night and go to New Plymouth.

If anyone is keen, let me know and we'll plan it out.

Reverse of what the LOR group did last Auckland Anniversary weekend (2013) - you could try for that weekend 25,26,27th January and see if any of the LOR group are interested???

I'm open to any dates untill the 10th of Feb when I'm back to work, so maybe a weekend may suit more people. I was thinking of doing it during the week to avoid weekend traffic but that's no biggie.

If I hadn't just sold my bike I would consider it - have fun. Awesome roads around there

Would you be keen to go over anniversary weekend 25-27th Jan? I could wait the extra week if if means getting a larger group together.

I'm keen for the earlier dates, as I have to be back in Auckland on the 23 Feb.
