I bought this bike in Whangarei from a bike wreakers in about 1986. Does anyone know anything about it or who built it?
It's based on an air cooled RD from about 1975 and had a lot of TZ parts on it.

It's the first eight pictures when it was in primer grey before I started modifying it.

When I got it I called Machintosh about it and he thought that maybe is was a new Zealander called Harris might have done the monoshock?? Frame was nickel plated which might be a give away to it's history?

I think this might be a fun track day bike... or even a post classic pre1982 racer... trouble with that is that I am a slow rider by racing standards. Fine for the slow group on a track day.

I held the record for the slowest flying lap at couple of the Pukekohe Classic Register race weekends!
And I still came third in my last race... as everyone else (bar two) in my class broke down over the weekend!! Got a hell of a shock when I got the plaque. lol

I thought someone would have recognised the bike from somewhere in the late 1970's and early 1980's???
I would love to know more about it's early life.

Gavin

Not every old bugger is on line - let alone on here....

take it along to the Classic festival at HD, put it on display with a sign asking for info....and wait.

At the very least, you'll hear a lot of stories....

Yep, I bought it in about 1986, sold it back in the early 1990's, then bought it back, then sold it again in the early 2000's then it sold on TM late last year and the new owner rang me to get some history and I have ended up buying it back off him for the price he paid as he decided he had to many projects.

So I am back to work on the same bike 28 years after I first bought it and the third time I have bought it!!

Regards
Gavin
Also with to many projects!! :)
