Can anyone recommend a good vintage/veteran bike forum?
Best go to a bike specific one, I use Access Norton for my Commando, Bevel Heaven for the Darmah, ADV rider for the BMW airheads, Kiwi biker when I am ( really) bored at work.
ADV rider also has a sub section called Olds Cool, worth a look.
I'm in the vintage motorcycle section of the VCC in Auckland and they have only just recently started to use .....Email and they have monthly meeting at an actual club with a bar
and go on rides. I suggest the VCC.

Redefine a Classic every one has an opinion on whats a classic is it a 20yr old bike or a great bike that's 20 yrs old eg a Suzy Gt125 or Gt250 x7 or RG250wd , Yam YB100 or Rx125 or Rd125 ?
Any thing before WW2 should be a Vintage classic, before 1975 a post classic, after 1975 just a classic as this is when Japan began to dominate and England went into free fall decline along with some Euros.

Who said anything about classic? 1926 Matchless R. What category does that fall into and what forum do you suggest?
@ far queue, no not quite what I had in mind. I should know better.
@ Voltaire, yeah I think the VCC is a good start, just can't find much info on my "bike" on the web so it may be a bit rare.

A point to open a discussion on, the Vintage/Veteran classic car brigade are a well known white dust coat ,clip board fraternity that take annal retentive to a whole new level. Do we want to take it to that?

The term classic has been rendered meaningless. Historically wars seemed to be convenient pigeon holes for vehicle classes.
I'm in the VCC and they love all that post classic, post 60, veteran, vintage stuff.
You can buy a brand new Norton Manx and go classic racing in pre 63.....go figure.
I have bikes from the 70's some are so called classics some are not, I don't care. I do however like bikes first registered before Jan 1974 as they are only $117 a year to register.
My daily riders are 1976 and 2003, I like the 1976 one better.

Bit of a typo there John....should be "first registered before Jan 1974", so more than 40 years old to qualify for cheap rego. And yep all my favourites are in or nearly in that bracket

And I had an eye test the other day too.....
By October I'll have two bikes on cheap rego and maybe a van too.
