there is a bike shop in QT that should be able to assist, well used to be and im guessing it is still there, they used to rent bikes.

Funnily enough, my battery on the Blackbird failed in Wanaka a few years back and I got a replacement from Davidson Honda in Alexandra (03-448 6374). They were great to deal with.
