mad max2 the road warrior is on sky at the mo, its a fucken great movie. anyhow the first action scene has a bike, a buggy and a landau coupe all piloted by baddies chasing max and his dog in the v8 intercepter, the scene ends when the coupe and buggy crash when they come accross an upturned truck.
max goes back to said truck to salvage leaking fuel, and the baddies on the bike (punk warrior and his homo buddy) stop at a distance and snarl at max
before retreating with a wheelstand (yeah!!) soooo...what ive always wondered, what is the bike? i reckon its a kwacka motor altho its hard to tell with the cool finned clutch cover (aussie outback is bloody hot of course!) so maybe gt750 or even an early gpz.
anybody have any ideas?:sherlock:

Kawa 1000 from memory, the bodywork was done locally in Oz for the movie.

aha, yep they say kawa z900 or 1000 made to look like a katana 1100 which was new at the time...single front disc and unusual mag wheel pattern
is confusing and brake calliper is forward of the fork leg rather that aft

It's certainly not a gt750.
Was a good movie, they should do a re-make

Wez's Z looks more akin to Craig Vetter's Mystery Ship Z1000

I've no idea if the new one will be shit but I am going to see it just because the production design for all the vehicles is so good, here's a small clip with some stills. The same design crew that did the original are responsible for the cars and trucks etc, these are actual machines not cgi.

Well putt. None of the movies have really been Oscar material.
Anybody familiar with the Mutoid Waste Company? Fruit loops, but throw one helluva party. Back in the 80's they took over a derelict bus depot in Paddington & I was fortunate enough tp attend a couple of parties. The second party ground to a halt when a few people fell through the roof. Music in part of the depot was supplied by a grinder orchestra. Mental.
Looks like they have moved to Italy. Summer is spent on the festival trail, Glastonbury etc. Used to have loads of crazy vehicles in convoy but I reckon the EU has put the kaibosh on that.
