Hey guys, Anthony from Dunedin, 22, and very new to the motorbike scene.
I'm easily comfortable on farm bike but have only ridden a road bike (Suzuki gsx250) once around the block.
I have recently bought a Yamaha fzr400r '89 that has been sitting in somebody's garage in Christchurch since the earthquake a few years back.
After getting it back to Dunedin on the back of a ute (the bike has no battery) I have taken most of the plastic off as some of it needs repair.
Once hooked up to a battery the bike started relatively well considering its 3+year sit. A bit of a scare as after starting the compression in each cylinder was around the 50psi mark but that soon freed up as the valves were a bit sticky.
Next step is to replace a fuel hose which is dripping and a middle O ring in from the carb (good fun).
After that a good service and a good ride! Then i suppose a motorbike licence and a warrant ;)
Really want to get out there and involved in the riding community down here very excited!

I do! The left side could do with a patch up as most of the mounts are broken
