Dates for the coming year

Te Puke NI round still to be confirmed and Easter at Roy's hill for the NI series on top of these

......
08-09/03 GP at Tokoroa
.......

(all the above are at Mt Wellington except for the Tokoroa GP)

AMCC date thread.

Am I reading this correctly.
The NZ F4 GP is on the 8/9 March?
That's only just over a month away yet the bull shit hasn't started...

Second Question:
Is AMCC going to test out the Special Event Licence rule???

MNZ Licence.
17 tooth front sprocket.
Horsepower.

No way I can make that. Just before nationals at Taupo. Development class is open for buckets. Long track...

did you win lotto:msn-wink:

I wish!

Taller gearing is just about going to take a lotto win too!

Can you cut 420 sprockets down to 415?
Think I'm going to make both bikes totally 415, it's a mission to do but should be best in long run seeing as I have RS rims.

I've managed to suck him into grinding a few down for me.
But I thought the RS sprockets could fit on the MB??

Stink. Sort of committed to the nationals. That will take all coin and then some.

Why do you need taller gearing? Tokoroa uses the same super short gearing as Mt Wellington, for me this a 12 front 52 rear. I was actually thinking of getting a 53 rear sprocket to gear down ever so slightly.
Rich does the GP clash with the Nationals? if not find the cash as my victory without beating you will feel almost hollow!

Does not clash just can"t spend the extra time and dollars away. As for beating me. Yeah NAH not a chance. I have just found bags of power hiding in the carb. It will be interesting tomorrow on track.

I have just found bags of power hiding in the carb.

And I've found bags of talent from landing on my head.
Piston has been ceramic coated, cylinder and head have been coated with heat dispersant, mid race map has been programmed etc etc
And then there's the bark busters (fire with fire and all that)

Have to Double Check that !

Was going to use CR80/85 420 cut to 415 as they are MB sized.

Desire for more fron teeth is from combination of low primary ratio in the engine and large sprocket sizes on the back of my wheel, using RS rims will lessen this as I can then go to a lower tooth count on the rear but it will give me the most options.

Currently I'm tall enough but don't have enough intermediate steps; have to run too tall rather than too low.

My power runs from 8k-10k with a bit of overrev.
Engine has low primary ratio.

Currently on 14/46 which is too high, need more steps to get lower without loosing 1 full tooth off the front.

Well the old barrel has set one lap record and possibly shared another in the past two weeks so it's got a chance, but it was so much more at the start of the practice of the BOB where I was playing silly buggers. To be there again would be great, but there is so much more to go I'm sure.

You can borrow some of the RS spare sprockets if you want, have a good range in fronts and rears, enough for Roys Hill to Bonneville lol

I think there is 34 to 40, 14 to 17 in stock, havnt unpacked the van yet.
I am sure I have had a RS sprocket on a XL125 engine, thinks its the same spline as FXR and KR kwaka too. Maybe wrong tho

It looks like the RS one is going to be a lot bigger...

JTF253 is the type I plan to use but have cut to 415.

Smaller centre, bugger

Found the KR engine and the Loncin, RS fits both and the KR sprocket is a JTF548-13. Thought I had done this before and remembered after reading the thread you posted

Haha, oh well!

Just did some workings, I already knew but max speed I can get with current setup and off the shelf sprockets (Which I have) is 116kph in 6th at 12000rpm.

It's not pulling 12K at the moment so would realistically be about 105kph. Ain't doing Taupo long track any time soon...

You can use a CT70 sprocket on the MB, brought one from ebay aus 16T 420 that came down to 415. I ran it with a 46 at BOB but it was undergeared so I'm looking at ordering a 43 or 42

Henk
24th January 2014, 16:08
We left the upgrade licence off the entry form. Kamil is onto this and the updated form should be on the MNZ website at some stage. This means just a $50 upgrade so if you have a club licence don't get the full one just yet.

I have a club licence which I will $50 one time upgrade to full for the event. hoping AndrewA from down here will be keen. Also my mate Darrin will get his back to form after getting keen riding the foulstroke twice in the last couple of weeks

I am not sure about the center hole diameter on this one but I have seen auctions on Trademe with lists of sprockets and they had both 17mm and 20mm centers. Might be worth asking this vendor (Scoterpartsman) the question.

All good, I've ordered a set of 420 fronts, I may get it running with these for a bit, if the rear works out.
Then I'll get them cut down once I'm on Full RS, or RS rims on the NSR.
I will eventually go to 415 on everything.
