Anybody know Where to get a full rebuild kit from in NZ. There is an outfit in Albany that does them, but seems to be all individual sets, as in gaskets in one set, crank in another set, bearings in another set, ect....But would be nice to get a whole complete kit. Any help appreciated.:2thumbsup

Yep, thats the fellas. They are listing full rebuild kits on TM, but when I e-mailed them, they said auction was for some 85cc bike. But ad states they also do kits for other makes, including crf250r. But you have to purchase all bits separately, which works out to be a lot more than the $480 for the full kit.<_<

Have you tried contacting them direct through their website? A 250 4stroke re-build will always be more expensive than a 85cc 2T

Yes, have contacted them. Personally I think the ad on TM a little misleading. Either that or my comprehension is somewhat lax.
Rebuild kit on TM lists new crank, bearings, seals, gaskets, piston, rings. Really dont need a piston though and the rings seem to be still within spec. The motor that is in it has seized its thrust washers and shit its big end bearing, which seems to be common on these. The cheapest option so far seems to buy a whole new crank assembly, rather than pressing this crank apart and rebuilding. The option I have with Motoxworks is to buy each item individually, which I said before, increases the price a fair bit. Was hoping I could just get the whole lot in one go( 1 kit). Cheers for your responses so far guys, much appreciated.:Punk::Punk:

This is the ad...http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/motorbikes/parts-for-sale/engine-components/auction-685005976.htm
It does say its for KX65, but also lists the kits they do for other models, which they do not do.

Yep I'm with you now, essentially they aren't supplying a cheaper bundle of the kits for the engine you have. Even though the listing states they have them as a kit.

Thats the way I read it, they have sent me a price list of the individual items and it is around the $760 mark. Too much I thought, am waiting for an e-mail from a mate in the UK, may be cheaper getting it offshore, which is a shame. I would rather put coin into our economy.

The price dif between a 2 smoke rebuild kit and a 4 stroke rebuild kit is substantial , the 4s have so much more moving parts on a side note have you checked the valves are with in spec and the seats etc, Ti valves run to $140 each.
EBay could be another option as the dollars still strong.

Yep, everything in the top end is all good. Even the crank bearings seem good, but the amount of shit floating around in the oil means they will be getting renewed as a matter of course. Also need a clutch basket, as the one on there has one finger missing and a couple of others cracked. Looks to me like someones been holding the revs and dumping the clutch on a hard surface.:Punk::Punk:
Bike is on 35 hrs.
