Hi guys!
I am looking to find an adventure riding similar to the one these guys did.

Looking for something near Wellington. Was looking for 2 or 3 days, camping in the middle of nowhere, some bad terrain, rocks, etc... no big river crossing as well, just like those guys did.
Any ideas?!

or Aslan, or Pampera, Box-a-bits...etc..all locals. :)
Not all of us are on the above, so the link don't work for us non believers...Good luck.

Hi - Waihou Thumper - a good man is generous - I've not done much serious dual sport riding since breaking a collar bone en route to Dusty Butt in 2012
Most active folks these days tend to be Box a Bits and Chris Adam on his DR Ropata
Check out thread "Wellington ride outs where to next?" on here and or ADVRider
Do a search on Pukemanu Adventure Ride - next month in the Wairarapa
I'm planning to have my DR ready for that event
Check out Akatarawa Forest - Wellington Regional Council - Karipoti etc
I'm planning on going in there in the next little while to refresh my skill and confidence
Cheers S

The Akatarawa forest roads are in excellent condition at present. If you want steep hills try the Hukinga Rd to the Rockgarden before it deteriorates with rain runoff - but don't go past the Rockgarden sign.
Best to go midweek or in the evenings to avoid speed crazies and MTBs at this time of year. Permit and map available online http://www.gw.govt.nz/trail-riding-permit/
