I brought this GSXR 1000 Titanium muffler new.
It had been taken off a new bike to fit an after-market exhaust system.
I think it is a 2003 or 2004 model.
It weighs 2.3kg
It is about the same diameter as the stock DR650 muffler but it was a bit longer.
I shortened it to make it about the same length as the stock DR650 muffler.
This was done by machining off the factory seam between the inner and outer at the outlet end.
The inner then just slides out of the outer and the 2 bits are shortened to suit.
The 4 x M8 connection bolts are what holds the inner and outer together.
So once the pieces are shortened all that is required is to seal the inner and outer together at the outlet end on reassembly.
I used high temp silicon for this and it held up well in service.
You can see the seal in one of the pictures.
The seal will degrade in time but it lasted about 20,000kms on my bike.
It is very easy to redo the seal if required.
Undo the 4 muffler attachment bolts, slide the inner out of the outer about 10mm, apply sealant, slide inner back in and do up 4 attachment bolts.
I have just redone the seal on this muffler.
Some of the pictures shows for reference the muffler mounting I used on my DR650.
Please note that only the muffler is for sale, not the mount or mid pipe
The muffler is quite good cosmetically but it does have minor marks from gravel road use on the inside and underside but the bits that you see when installed on the bike are pretty good.
Price is $120 including free delivery anywhere in NZ on NZpost parcel post
