Hello everyone, just got my first bike; 1998 Suzuki RG150. Im loving the bike and havent crashed it yet in the two days that ive been riding... Im surprised how quick it gets up even with its power valves not working properly.

If anyone in chch can help me fix my power valve issues, or my speedo which is out of wack it would be much appreciated.
Cheers, Liam.

Can't help with the bike sorry.
But welcome, enjoy the addiction
Handy hint, don't leave your helmet on the seat. It will easily fall off (and it won't even need an earthquake). And a dropped helmet can be in need of replacing if it gets damaged.

If you want to do it yourself, this thread here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/161332-RG150-short-on-power) covers quite a bit on the performance side.
If I had to do this again, I would do the following in order
1. check the power valves are adjusted correctly.
This involves taking the cover off the pulley, then connecting the white and yellow wire (near the battery) to the negative terminal, and turning the key. You should see the markers on the pulley and on the housing line up. If not adjust accordingly.
2. check if there are any broken bits or wownd out screws under the exhaust valve inspection cover.
3. Do the yellow/white wire test again and watch to make sure the valves are being pulled out.
4. Make sure the power valves are up the right way. The longest sides of the valves should be at the top.
