That fence looks familiar. I'm sure I've crashed into it.

Cheers!

Also got a technical thought from that...

Ahhh . . . . the 6 hour race at Whenuapai. That brings back memories. Actually it doesn't. I lay unconscious on the track for a couple of laps, until someone in the pits figured I was missing and that was what all the waving was about, and I can't remember fark all. We used to spend Friday night at Farrow's bike shop. 2AM was seen a few times with the motocross boys dropping in for cables and oil on the way home from a night in Auckland. The cops dropped in a few times around midnight as well to see what was going on and suggesting the bikes outside could be brought inside. A few names in the article I'd more or less forgotten about.

I see, one of the rules, "Alcohol for all", is mentioned at the top of page 45, bring back the good old days I say ..... :D

ACU fixed that for us

ACU fixed that for us

yeah...as i remember it was driven from wellington. there was a motion from the floor at one point to just ban Nitro but they threw the baby out with the bathwater...i was at that one as an observer and when that remit went through i walked out....

what pissed me off most was that i'd been involved that season running the fastest F1 bike in NZ on an alky brew - and my own club voted to ban alky.....

those of us who wanted to retain alky were pushing the green aspect - alky from renewable resources and synthetic oil too....

Too many minds made up on too little evidence.

When was that?

Should we reinstate the old rule? No alcohol for anyone riding a 125 four stroke.

Sounds good to me...

Not many 125 4ts left out there though, maybe we should expand it to any bucket riders with a capacity under 130.

I must admit that where alcohol in the bike may well help performance, into the rider probably doesn't.

No probably, it doesn't.

While thinking of revisions, I think watercooled unlimited carb's should be allowed up to 116cc... :innocent:

That would allow KT pistons in a MB without destroking the crank. Ask me and Dave about the effort and cost of doing that properly. Apart from a few more CCs it would allow the MB cylinders to be used for a lot longer with all the incremental oversizes.

Is that so you can use that engine I sent you? :innocent:

In the olden days, it was 100cc four stroke, Unlimited.
I thought that was a pretty cool rule!

So a special rule for you and Dave as you are about the only ones that have persevered with those crap MB motors.

. . . . . and how much power does your crappy motor make, and how good are your gearbox ratios(yeah I know, brilliant g'box), and the clutch, and the crankshaft?? And doesn't your carb stick out the side? What's with that?

speedpro

Dave and Gary are using MB or H100s as well. Bit of work going on there too at the moment.

. . . . . and how much power does your crappy motor make 25hp, and how good are your gearbox ratios never had cause to complain about the ratios (yeah I know, brilliant g'box), and the clutch failed once because I used old plates, since replaced never had an issue, and the crankshaft?? proven to be bullet proof And doesn't your carb stick out the side? never caused a problem other than a bit of fuel oil mix on the boot. What's with that?

Lets face it Mike, MB's are shit.
