Not too sure how I feel about that?
I liked dealing with Patrick in parts, but I'm sure there will be plenty of positives with the new dealer. Onwards and upwards I suppose.....for Triumph that is.

Seem to be good at that lately.

They sent an e-mail.
I have read about on other sites overseas that if you want to be a H-D Dealer that they make certain demands on what if any other bikes you sell.
That applies to bike parts as well and service tools.

I was in Amps about 3 weeks ago to look a Triumph Thunderbird they were advertising on their WS .
Was told that it was the only one and will be the last they stock .
Didn't buy it as Holeshot's had a beauty in stock and offered me $3000 more for a trade in.
Much better service too.
Happy as now with the Tbird.

I had similar thoughts and reservations when Wgtn M/Cycles ceased to be the Triumph outlet in Welly as well, but my dealings with Ben at Motorad (parts dealings only) have been second to none.

Another example of corporate arseholes slowly destroying the small business's in NZ and around the globe.
The online purchasing model will reign supreme soon. Good or bad, I don't know.

Corporations don't have arseholes, sport, people do. Whatever happened at ANZA was decided by people.
Plenty of arseholes WORK for corporations, though. I don't deal with arseholes. I don't buy Triumph, Aprillia or Husqvarna products in NZ, and I hear BMW might recently have been similarly affected.

Guess your going to be fucked trying to buy a NZ made/designed/manufactured bike then...
(seriously though, i know Trumpy and Aprillia are the same importers, didnt realise they also fuck other brands as well, assuming that is the picture you're painting when we join the dots)

Jethro Tull (the agri-pioneer not the band) changed the farming model that everyone was used to. And now we wouldn't want to go back.
The online purchasing model for all its faults can't be undone. And should improve.

There's three kinds of people: dicks, pussies, and assholes. Pussies think everyone can get along, and dicks just want to fuck all the time without thinking it through. But then you got your assholes. All the assholes want us to shit all over everything! So, pussies may get mad at dicks once in a while, because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes. And if they didn't fuck the assholes, you know what you'd get? You'd get your dick and your pussy all covered in shit!

Yeup, they've also joined the Beckhaus group... I wanted, nay, needed, a clutch lever on Friday. Motomart didn't have one, Auckland didn't have one, BMW NZ didn't have one. It was an order from Germany... seriously, this is a clutch lever for an adventure bike.
Fortunately, Motomart had the same bike in lockup and could take it and send to me....

The brother recently sold his R1200GSA. The ABS module started intermittently faulting, he'd done all he could himself, (quite a bit) and asked Motomart to check it over. He already knew most of the first couple of years worth had been recalled in most countries for that fault, and most in NZ had been replaced under warrantee, but he bought his already two years old with only a couple of thousand K on it. Motomart sympathised, but apparently were unable to help. $4500 plus labour later the fault was fixed.
He'd be quick to point out that nobody was legally required to fix his bike. If pushed he'll tell you it's the last BMW he'll own. By my reckoning that will have cost them several new bike sales over the next few years, and that's the cost of just one of many similar, (and much worse) irregularities from that quarter. The marques in question are being very poorly served by their representatives in NZ.

Triumph would be by far the biggest volume? I have had no issues with either of my two Triumphs I do have to say. But I have not needed stuff apart from normal servicing items. I did need some bits for the Scrambler when I rode off with a disc lock attached (doh) clutch lever speedo cable foot peg and something else. Bars were Renthal anyway. All in stock and two day delivery. Same with the Arrows pipes on the ST- R.
Personally i would be looking to ebay or overseas if it is more than a week delay for anything.
Good for Motorad hooking you up with one

Nearest BMW dealer to me is about 20 minutes away, I have 3 BMWS, all airhead, went there once and the parts prices were laughable.
I can get almost anything in a few days ex UK or Ebay.
When I had a Thruxton I went to AMPS after some gaskets, took a week.
I found it less easy to get parts from overseas for that.
Sold it as it was boring to own.

If by boring you mean reliable then sure. I don't have a fleet of bikes so I need one that I know will go, then I can faff about with the others and tolerate them being not so reliable.

Triumphs back-up can't be that poor - every fourth bike appears to be one. Maybe it depends a lot on the shop selling them - Street & Sport in CHCH does have a good rep.

Fair enough if you're talking ww. I get the numbers emailed to me being a licenced motor vehicle dealer. And yes...Honda have made a bit of a come back here in NZ. But over the last couple of years...it's been Suzuki in #1 spot...and HD and Triumph in the number 1 spot for bikes over 800cc. As dealers bikes below that have no money in 'em anyway...and who gives a shit if Honda sell 5 more scooters than Suzuki?

Yeah I don't really give a stuff but I think if you want to put up stuff it should be correct.
Re over 800, that will change things altogether, wont pick up those 675 triples and the like.
Would be an interesting stat.
Looking at the last years sales Triumph took a bit of a hit.
