Very cool, but
"Nissan will become the first major manufacturer to use a three-cylinder engine in major international motorsport,” says Darren Cox, Nissan's Global Motorsport Director.
Hasn't this been happening in bike racing for ages??

Yes, but not from major manufacturers. Aprilia, Triumph, and MV and the earlier incarnation of Triumph/BSA and also MV Agusta are all small beans in manufacturing terms compared to the current iteration of Nissan.

I think they called themselves Honda. You might have heard of them?

400hp is nothing...

I think they called themselves Honda. You might have heard of them?

At the time they were small.No they weren't, they had half the American market by that stage, and were only a couple of years away from their first F1 championship (although admittedly that is on the car side).
