Bluetooth kits?

Hi all

Had a quick search but could not find any specific info.

Now that I have my helmet sorted (Shoei Neotec) thought I would add a BT kit

Usually ride by myself so not too worried about bike to bike comms. Not wanting to spend a lot cash especially after the helmet purchase!

Looking at a Scala rider Q1 - does all that I need it to do and is sub $200.

Anybody got one and have any feedback. Webbikeworld seems to rate it for bang for buck , but always good to hear what it is like in the real world.

Have looked at Sena but a few $$ dearer for features that I would never used.

Be aware you're effectively asking "which oil" and you're going to start a war.

Sena and Scala are the main ones, debated to death which is better. Cheapest Sena is the SMH5, which has less range, shorter life etc. Haven't used Scala, as I have Sena, along with a few other guys. This is crucial if you're linking them together (which we are) as then they have to be the same brand. Only proviso on this is that the new Sena 20s will apparently link them all... which is awesome.

Whichever one you choose, check out the pricing on Amazon (from their own 'Prime' warehouse). I bought a pair of Sena SMH5's shit loads cheaper than I could get here. When one of them started playing up Sena honoured the warranty because Amazon is an approved retailer. Before anyone starts off about it being unfair to local retailers because I didn't pay gst. My landed cost including freight was about 45% lower than local prices, so even if I paid gst I would still save shit loads :-). Very happy with the Sena but have never used the Scala so can't comment.
