As some of you already might know, I'm pretty keen to get the white bodywork off of my bike.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Thought I'd go with the blue & photoshoped the colour scheme.
Will darken the headlight with darker shade chrome too.
Number 1 is current state. Can't decide between 2 & 3. Any feedback from anyone would be appreciated. Cheers:niceone:

I like #3... the blacked out front fender goes well with the blacked out headlight. If you were to keep the standard headlight colour, I'd say #2

I prefer the all blue look of number two myself. It looks more striking.
Maybe change the red pin stripe on the tyres as well to blue?

The best colour schemes always have three colours, those little splashes of red make it. #2

I actually like the white but with the blacked out front guard as in pic 3. Maybe a few splashes of red to sharpen things up also.

Same. Pic 1 with black front guard and with the blacked out headlight surround gets my vote.

I reckon #3, go Aprilia-style and have a few colours on there that work together. Makes it more of your own as well, rather than emulating a colour scheme that looks close to standard. Nothing like having a bike that's unique

+1 on #3 - I think it gives it a "meaner" look. Looks like you have the OEM mirrors? If it were mine, I would get a bar end mirror as I feel it really enhances the look of naked bikes.

I like both the white and the blue, so I thought "Why not both?"

Personally im a fan of chameleon, its rather unique and eye catching but it does have its draw backs.
Its hard to get it extremely glossy like a flat colour and its expensive as fuck. $730 for 500mL at smits

Same here.
Keep it white or paint it something unique. Perhaps another shade of blue - sky blue or eggshell blue?

Personally I'm a fan of total white, see my avatar.
I see cars coming out of side streets dip as their drivers momentarily think, "Shit, it's a cop!" and hit their brakes. Anything that produces a moments hesitation and avoids a SMIDSY gets my vote.

This needs my 2 cents.
It should be Yamaha Yellow.

I like the white. Many, many moons ago there were a coupla lads from Wanganui had Norton Dominators in white with lotsa chrome. Those bikes looked brilliant. The standard colour was grey IIRC.
But then again blackdog's retro racing yellow is brilliant.

That blue you chose is pretty awesome. Wouldn't go chameleon.

Looks like you got a special on blue paint from The Warehouse. Either that or a big tin of blue paint fell off a truck.
And sorry, I thought the bike looked better before you painted it, but it is you that has to look at them.

Preferred it in white, it was a lot more striking. I think the blue is a bit boring.
But I'm not the one who has to look at it every day, so good on you for making it look how you want it to.

Don't remember where I saw it now, but you can by a vinyl wrap with a chameleon-style colour scheme.

Did you paint it or vinyl wrap it?
sent from my phone (so scuze auto correct typos)
DODO``
6th April 2014, 14:00
I did look into wrapping it as my mate owns a tinting/vinyl shop, but ended up painting it as I never wanted white in the first place. I bought the bike thinking that I will get rid of the white (the price and the mods were too good to miss). However If you want to go back to existing colour, vinyling could be an option. google pros and cons about them I'm sure there will be heaps of it. It all depands on what you want at the end of the day. vinyl is especially cool in many ways if you are considering matt black.

I'd throw some pearl while racing stripes down the centre of that blue.

What stickers and badges are actually on it already? Personally, I'd leave it plain (other than the racing stripe).
Stickers add about 10hp each and you don't want things getting out of hand
DODO``
7th April 2014, 19:07
omg.. I blindly added about 70HPs.. yea.. I think I was having too much fun photoshoping it! haha I was thinking of racing strip AND these decals.....
oh oh, only thing thats actually on right now is the factory yamaha badge.

7th April 2014, 21:40
Stickers are tacky, just do racing stripes and leave it at that.

blue not really one of my favourite colours but bike looks pretty sharp

Racing stripe must be worth at least 20hp so you should really be taking this thing to the race track :p
You asked for opinions :bleh: If I was going to have any I would put ones like that triskelion that have a meaning to you (or random funny ones?) rather than logos of companies that already have their logos massively stamped on the gear of theirs you're probably wearing (unless that triskelion is actually a logo as well? meh)
Not only that, but you have to pay for stickers to advertise for them  I've never understood that!
Just to waffle a bit more I reckon a red stripe may look cool unless you plan on changing the rim tape and rad hose.

And a Silver fern ;)
A large silver fern would fit quite nicely on the side of the gas tank there. Would match the natural 'curve' in it. You could even have it made up as one of those tank protector stickers perhaps that wraps around the seat side of the tank.

White stripe with thin red outlines.
Actually white strip and white rim stripes would look sweet but then there is a the red hose .......
