On the weekend I treated my very new-ish bike seat with some Armourall and it came up all nice and dark and shinny. Probelm was the first time I went around the corner I nearly came off my bike! So I get some retrospective advice from everyone about NEVER using Armourall on my seat.

So, anyone else got any vinyl seat treatment advice?...I did hear that boot pollish is the go. Maybe a coat of hairspray might stop my sliding all over the place for now...

Thanks!!!

Boot polish will give you a lovely black arse - that IS what you wanted, right?

Nah, just a wipe with upholstery cleaner now and then and leave it at that.

I learnt that lesson years ago. Sliding all over the place. I just took to giving it a wipe with a damp cloth.

I use an amazing POR 15 product called POR GLO ,first I clean the seat with lacquer thinners [you will be amazed how dirty it is!!!] then I apply the POR GLO & let it dry for an hour or so & bingo a really shiny seat that isnt greasy try:

I use silicone spray - good tip for some bucketers? - because I want it to be slippy easier for those linked corners.

But as is said dont use anything that will leave a sheen/film, it will cause problems if your not used to sliding.
