hey guys, I may be going to tauranga in march to get my first bike and to drive it back down to christchurch, any areas I might wanna ride through to enjoy the trip more?
if the sale falls through it could be a trip to queenstown instead

Not sure how much riding you've done... but as it's a long trip, I'd probably avoid too many detours (stick to the main roads).
Make sure you take enough breaks on your trip, don't ride tired... and buy some earplugs (to wear inside your helmet). Over long distance riding, the wind noise that manages to leak inside your helmet will do a number on your ears...
But to restate: even if you're an experienced rider, it'll take time getting used to your new ride... more than just the collection trip. Longest one I did was a night trip from Gisborne to Ngaruawahia... and as it was night, and a new (to me) bike... I didn't get to enjoy the gorge as much as I would've liked. Once you've had your bike for a couple of weeks, clocking up the k's will be a lot more enjoyable.

Just avoid Tauranga and Christchurch, apart from that you will be fine

You can get those plastic army style ones for 30 bucks from Supercheap. 2 of those would strap together nicely/be easy to secure and then you'd have room in your bag to carry your sandwiches haha.

She isn't that mini lol from the picture of her it could be mistaken for a 600/900 plus being able to cruise at 110km/h with ease I am a lucky guy to be getting my hands on her and giving her one he'll of a first ride home
