Correct. I don't actually disbelieve him, or most of the other politicians similarly caught out by a press focused solely on constructing stories designed to inflict maximum damage. And that's from someone who intensely dislikes the policies he represents.

So save your hate for the real arseholes: the press. When it comes to disseminating irrelevant, inaccurate and factually vacuous spin for their own benefit most pollys cant touch them. Arseholes, to a man.
