If I were the arresting officer I would feel duty bound to arrest them for murder and turn them over for trial. As a human I would feel morally bound to shake their hand and present them with a bottle of good wine after arresting them.

I hope the "sick of being extorted" theory turns out to be right. Regrettably it will probably be a disgruntled customer or a rival gang.

The problem with our immigration system is that honest people have a bitch of a job getting residency, yet all the scumbags can immigrate to prey on the people who thought they'd escaped all that shit when they left their original homeland.

"You may have moved to NZ, pal, but you've still got to pay us."

I sincerely hope that the Police are not diverting resources from traffic enforcement to this enquiry.

Your average highway patrol officer would be real handy when dealing with asian organised crime.

I don't dislike Lou. In fact I'm sure that if we met in person we'd get along just swell.

True. You don't have to agree with someone's viewpoint to get along with them or even like them. LiasTZ and I vehemently disagree on most things but I get on OK with him at work and socially.

Am I missing something here? Was this guy born in NZ? If not - why the hell didn't he get stripped of his residenc and shipped of back to where he came from after serving jail time for the first if not the second offence?

Or isn't that PC?

Good point. In other country he would have been persona-non-grata-ed.
(In some other countries even the state would kill him....)

Don't be bloody silly! Kicking out a Chinese guy for carrying out his cultural practise of extorting his fellow ex-pats would be against some cultural sensitivity law!

The Triads are a part of life in China and it is culturally insensitive of you to consider stopping them from exporting them to any nation that has at least one Chinese person.

Next you'll want to kick out the Mafia, the Russian "Mafia" and the fucking Yakuza too, you Nazi.

(I'm sure Biff knows but incase anyone's haveing a "midweek" moment: PT)

What a waste of police resources. I appreciate they have a duty to uphold the law and I understand exactly why they have to investigate this case - I mean a murder is a murder in anyones books. But this has all the trademarks of a victimless crime.

I just feel sorry for all the other victims in society who can't have their case looked at properly while the Ds are busy on this one. And as for the families of the cops, they're working long hours on a murder enquiry, taking time away from their families, for what reason?

One of those idiosycracies(sp) of the society we live in.

Um, that might be so that they can lock up a killer, a gangster hit man. Fair enough that the "victim" is a worthless POS, who cares that he's dead? The positive side would be if the cops get to lock away another worthless POS as a result of their investigation.
