View Full Version : The great CBR vs GN debate

Ok, this week started off really well for me. I worked on Sunday and most of Sat night on our companies website that happened to re-write some code (??). But in return for that all-nighter and "good work" :zzzz: I got to take Monday and Tuesday off. Most of monday I spend cleaning up the house (not that this has anything to do with this thread) and sleeping in. But Tuesday was one of the funniest days of my life.

It was a fantastic day so I decided to take a ride towards Kiakoura way to relieve some of the boredom. So I hop on my bike and head off to gas up the beauty before I set off. Because it was such a terrific day, there were quite a few bikes out and all of them waved to me except this character on a GN125 (Not a 250). I went past and waved out to him and all I got back was the finger. Ok says I, must have something to do with being a retard but hey, nothing is ruining this day. So I pull into Shell (with the Burger King) on the way out of town and start to fill up. Whilst doing this my friend with the attitude problem on the GN125 pulls up. (Must have turned around). He proceeds to park his bike up across 2 car parks but doesnt seem to know how to work the centre stand because as he lets go the bike falls over. This brought out a little chuckle and I thought to myself that he deserves it for being a prick. Anyway, after a couple of minutes he finally gets the bike onto its centre stand.

Now comes the funny part. Off comes the helmet and this kid must be no older than 16. He walks/attempts to march and stumbles and continues to walk over to me and starts yelling.
"What the Fuck man! You think you are good enough to wave at me on that peice of shit! Fuck you man, you couldnt ride a tricycle dude. Fuck man, I dont want people to think I wave to crackheads like you on a fucken sporty bike"
I thought this kid either must be taking the piss or high on something but anyway I could help but laugh. So he goes on to say
"What the fuck you laughing at cock, my bike is fucken way cooler than yours and I bet it was more expensive. Fuck man, I could ace you round a track on thing. I didnt fucken get this bike to be waved at by a harley wannabe!"
So now I had to say something and it went along the lines of.
"Listen up sunshine, I have no idea what sort of stain on society you are imitating today but don't bloody call me a harley wannabe. I have no intention of riding one and sure as hell dont want to be slower than one. By the way, where did you happen to get a harley wanna be from drongo? My bike has twice the capicity of yours and sure as hell wont be slower than a GN125!"
I was watching my langauge as there were ladies and elderly people around and I didnt want to be labled as a wanker. I was just playing it calm cause this was fucken funny.
"You are stupid man, I can see you have just bolted on fairings to a dirt bike. It even sounds like crazy frog faggot. Fuck, when I get home Im gonna get my harley and my gang and kick your arse c$#ksucker."
Rigggghhhht!!!! I had to say something to that, besides, when does an inline 4 sound like a 2 stroke??
"Ok dweeb, now whats makes my bike so stupid, that makes yours so cool? I have a sports bike that can go a hell of alot faster than your bike. I can lap you twice around a track if I wanted to and I have an intelligent look in my eye that you lack!"
He didnt pick up on the intelligent thing but he did inform me that I dont know what Im talking about and that a GN will forever remain cool and be the first step to a harley because they are so alike. (I was crying with laughter by now but I didnt want to go inside and leave my bike alone with this looney) Luckily for me the station attendent came out to see if anything was wrong and all he got for being nice was a "Fuck off you walking hippy!". After that he politly told the dickhead to leave or the cops would pick him up. Dickhead became very nice to the attendent then and as he was walking away said to me, here it is ........ "You will never be good enough for a GN or a harley, faggot!"

Im glad I never will, but tell me, do all harley riders start off like this. Just getting big and gruff on their bikes because their first bike was a GN125? I have nothing against harleys at all but this waste of air was very close to having his noggin beaten in.

So what is cooler? CBR250RR or a GN125?

BTW, the ride and weather was great!

OMG what planet did this guy come from???
As a past GN250 rider, and also having riden a VTR 250, CBR 250&400 I would have to say...as good as the GN is for a learner... i like the others a little better for anything over 100kms :)
But OMG what an attitute...
pleeze dont think that all I-wanna-be-a-harley riders are like that...this bloke wont get past the 125 if we are lucky...hopefully someone else wont have your patience!
geez that just astounds me...I'm floored by it...damn good job on not reacting :Punk:

Thanks for sharing that moment of hilarity, it gave me a giggle for the morning! I wonder what he would have made of my KTM... 'Ducati wannabe' maybe...

Both bikes are cool for the purpose for which they're made. Shame the other rider was such a dick-head. He must have forgotten to take whatever medication he is on yesterday morning.

I can't believe that kid's attitude! When I got the BMW a few years ago this guy came up to me at the start of a ride and said "now you'll know what it's like to ride a Harley". I looked at him and said "how do you work that out?" He said it was because my CS had a belt drive! I laughed and said "that's the only similarity, this has really good power and brakes and corners like it's on rails!" He took great offence at this comment and proceeded to call me every *$@# under the sun, before saying "my fucking Harley will whip your arse any day". I didn't think anything of it until I overtook him during the ride and saw him nearly crap off trying to overtake me again!

Some people are tossers no matter what they ride. He'll soon learn - especially if he tries this crap with someone who may have a shorter fuse!

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha....

FFS, some people should simply not be permitted to own a motorcycle and I reckon this individual is one of them. I've owned a GN250, not a GN125 and it was slow and painfull to ride, however it was all I could afford at the time. I really hope I come accross this dweeb on my new bike, I'm interested to hear how crappy it is as afterall, its only a CBR also. A few sayings from the drill instructor outta Full Metal Jacket would be put to good use if I did come accross him. I just hope the individual never comes accross Kiwi Biker and is sterile, so that he does not contaminate the world with his genes. Good on ya Sniper!

So that he can astound us with his skills and awesome power and handling of the GN125. Now I can’t wait till this guy meets some gang members & thinks he’s erm. . hip to their creed or whatever.

“In the wind brothers”

& they turn around & sausage his arse for taking the piss. :chase:

Funny these little clowns, I used to know this bully (went to another school), him & his mates jumped up & down on my bmx bike after threatening me (as I hung out with someone they didn’t like).

Anyways I saw him at WMCcentre a decade or so later buying a ‘peanut’ tank or some other ridiculous accessory for a clowns comedy bike (883). He grumbled something at me & I just laughed. He wasn’t bigger than me anymore & his mates weren’t there.

All these years later & some of these turkeys never grow up.

Hellooo, we’re adults now. :psst:

As for the “How can you wave at me?” guy:
“Sorry I thought you may have been a motorcyclist instead of some pimple-popper rebel without a clue.”

‘course it’s hard to think of anything on the spot. None of these dicks will be riding in a years time.

that is one of the funnist things I have read in a long time. makes me want to ride down to Chch and wave at very GN rider I can just to "experience" this for myself.

Although not to this extreme I get a fair bit of flak for riding my GPZ250 to work. There are a couple of other riders who ride to work. One on a GSX1100 (which is really nice) but I don't know who owns it. One particular guy on a CBR600 who can wheelstand and wheelspin to 200k/hour and his CBR is the fastest bike on the road and the GPZ is a toy that shouldn't be on the road.. blah blah blah.I'm not one to enter into arguments on who can kill themselves first on a bike. Even on bigger bikes I don't ride any faster than on the GPZ.

I don't know what it is. Maybe some chemical imbalance somewhere between the brain and mouth.

I get hassled when I go home for not having a cruiser style bike, I usually reply since when do I Cruise? I don't speed much, but I don't take my time getting to the speed limit.

There are some (I am using the term loosely here) riders that do need to grow up, and recognise that two wheels rubber side down is good, and no matter what you ride, it is how and why you ride that is important. :ride:

Depends on who is riding that GN125. This guy, he brought down that honest machine.

I briefly met a very attractive lady who had a GN125. She was far to tall (For the bike) and much too sexy to stop that particular GN125 from being anything but the bike I wanted to have at that point. Would have biffed mine for that..

No wait, I am confused. I didn't *want* the bike, I wanted to *be* the bike.

My mistake.

Fuck sniper you faggot. GNs are waaaaay cooler than our stupid cocksucking CBRs. That GN would be doing circles around us with its loads of torque, mind numbing horsepower and harley style. Only real men get GN125s

My first thought would be to swap over the bikes so he could see how wrong he is, but after seeing him not being able to work his kickstand, that would be nuts. He'd probebly run off with it too

Get a plate number? I'm not interested in catching up with the little twit but it might be fun just to find out who he is.

And ha ha ... one of my mates and his wife both ride a big trikes and if this little twit hassles either of them in any way he WILL get his arse kicked.

Sounds like he downgraded after not being able to handle the power of a CG125...

I keep waiting for someone to go off at me about my "Jappa" motard just being a copy of the European ones.
Specially as it dosn't say "Gilera" on it anymore :D

Moi?

Should've challenged him to a duel at the lights, first to 100. Best I've done so far is roughly 5-6s, got the wheel a colossal 5cm or so off the ground. I’ve only had one car keep up, a rather nice ford escort, and have had several holdens get quite titchy at how easily I burned them at the lights and fly past me at 160, just to let me know who the real man is
