Does anyone know much about this whole Flappy Bird craze? I've seen plenty of $500 phones on TradeMe with a reserve or buy now price of $5000 or more. WTF is up with that? Do any muppets actually pay that much?

Doubt it. People go a bit crazy when something is hard to obtain, but over this?
I mean lets be real here, this is hardly Marmite we're talking about :sweatdrop

Still don't see paying 5k+ for a phone, I guess there's a market out there of people stupid enough to pay way over the odds for something that will be forgotten in a few weeks, if someone makes some money in the meantime good on them.

What's even more funny is this game is meant to be rare and very difficult to get since Google Play no longer stocks it, yet the .APK is freely available from third party sources with nothing more than a quick jewgle search.

Just to be a dick I might try selling my old Galaxy S Plus with Flappy Bird for a ridiculous sum on TM just to see if some muppet buys it.

Except most have no idea how that works. Well, you do have to alter a setting in most devices to allow the package to install.
Then again, you also get apps that can extract the apk from installed apps. Handy stuff ;)

Do it, and post a link. I want to see just how stupid people can be.

I'm real tempted to make a fake account and put ridiculous bids on some of them
