Going to try Multichoice here.
Name the top 3 on the Podium.
The top two aren't completely stitched up but it's a bit of a dumb poll to pick a winner with 2 having a much better chance than average.

Dave Dave and Tim. Not even going to try and pick the order.

I hadn't he's been giving DD a run for his money the last couple of times he had it out.
Oh and Rod was going damn well on the first run on his, if he gets the shock sorted and unseizes it he'll be a force to be reconned with as well.

If anyone is keen to run F5 as a second class for the weekend, Shona's bike is back on TM for $500.

It's around the same pace as our 100s, luke and Michelle had a good dice at the track three GP.
Don't think it has 17s on it either as I seem to recall replacing the tube in the rear tyre in the back of the van one rainy day when it picked up the air screw out of someone's carb.

I have been watching all the bullshit and I reckon my super reliable Honda 50 is going to finish 3rd behind the two Daves because all the others will have expired. get engraving !

Bummer. Was he going to ride the same RG50 that he and Pete Sales built a hundred years ago? I am sure that bike would still do well. Tell him gidday from the USA.

Yeah but got a bit worn out so given a Birthday a couple of gps ago plus some new ideas. Something got lost in translation so needs to find out as running issues. Put in shed but recent activity.
crumbs, a week to go and still need to rebuild both bikes. Plus start my fitness program.

My 50 has died so one less on the grid and no time to fix it. I'll heckle from the side lines instead. :violin:
Update, Culley has offered me his rg so the bet with Henk is still on

Big thanks to Culley for the loan of the RG50 and also to the rest of the ESE boys.
I had a great weekend thanks to the above after just expecting to be watching after my 50 died 2 days before the race.
Through practice I was having problems with carburetion, I had a massive delay when putting the gas back on and was trying to get around it by opening the throttle way before common sense told me to do so but as it was a bit random it was making life pretty interesting. Rick Ford the Tillotson guru took time out from his day to set the thing up to a point where I could ride it with more confidence and my times came down from 54s laps in practice down to 51s in the GP.
My race was a bit of a mad panic as pushing the bike into the holding bay I could hear something clicking and when I rolled the bike backwards the rear locked, the bolts that hold the rear sprocket had come loose and it was only thanks to Brian running off to find some replacements and doing the work that I got to race at all. I had to start off the back on cold tyres so I ended up easing it around for a couple of laps and by the time I had some confidence Henk and Ken had put a decent gap on me. I started playing with some different lines and found I had made a big gain on the boys in front and put in my fastest lap of the day on lap 25, I ran out of laps before I got to them but it was getting close. Nathaniel was in a class of his own all day the lad is too good.
I hope this GP will start a resurgence in the F5 class as it is so much fun and to all the people that took part and or rode or lent out your 50's thanks very much.
11 or 12 bikes I think

Yeah well all credit to Nathanial, despite not being on the poll, won anyway, clearly not understanding the mechanisms at play of how a poll works;).
Shame for Regan with bike troubles, but a solid effort from Andrew for 3rd & clearly we can make that bike faster, it was fitted with a guess as a jet & little practice time.
great work for getting the bikes out there. Lets not hide them, bring it on.

I had a good ride on the 50. I was very surprised to be third on the grid. Reagan went past easily but unfortunately expired. I slowed a bit feeling sorry for the poor we thing. Great fun though. I must put some effort int the bike.
I feel privileged to have stood next to the legend F5 Dave and young Nathaniel.

Aww, we should have had a group cuddle:grouphug:
There was quite a few of the field who then went on to ride another GP with about 1/2hr break.

Yep, Nathaniel, you, Ken, Malcolm, Regan, Andrew, and Me. I'm not sure how the rst of you felt after the F4 GP but I was damn near crippled from exhaustion.
Malcolm and I ran in the sidecar GP Saturday as well to collect the whole set, glad that didn't also run on Sunday.

My hands were a bit buzzy, but it was my wrists & fingers from braking down hill into that hairpin. for that reason alone the reverse direction would be better, but yes there are concerns about the fence & that should figure strongly I guess (having not looked closely or ridden anti clockwise).
Henk
10th March 2014, 14:18
Reverse direction was a blast and I'm glad I rode it. Would take some serious time to get used to, it becomes a lot more technical, braking down the hill is pretty intense and the section across the finish line is completely different than I expected, Rich may be right that putting the extra bend in might help, the other thing I noticed was that the track is a lot bumpier when run that way.

just cheaking the 50 pess of crap water pump that keeped stoping. after 3 runs went from 13hp to 10hp over heating so just as well it stoped! anyway was no way going to stay up with Nathaniel bike that seemed more to have the power of a 80 so god knows how thay have that bike going so well . think dave d should work for aprila ,derbi and teach them how to build engines:first: ohwell the bike can be pushed into the corner for a rethink one year

Was that the galley pump? Mine has been better than the flash brushless one. Still not ideal

10th March 2014, 19:19
Was that the galley pump? Mine has been better than the flash brushless one. Still not idealyes the same as your one , just keeped stoping then you tap it and starts up again for a min or so then stops again , maybe just a dud , someone saw water or somthing pumping out the bike on the track so worked it out to the engine over heating and dumping out the over flow bottle
F5 Dave

I did have wires in break where it rubbed against the engine. Re soldered it and Put a piece of foam there to stop it happening

Nah, sold on the concept, rather than any actual bike.
Thinking about using the RS frame as an F5 build, at least medium term.
Really, really should have got that second set of RS wheels that Chris C snapped up!

50 drop in easy with little or no cutting. That bike has rs shock. Ok ign and pipe and porting to start with. Heck use rest till can upgrade other bits.

After the other bikes are finished I feel a 50 coming on. I was thinking 100 but the wasp swarm just sounds great.
