If turning right from the lights be aware that contractors are re-sealing the Mt Wellington Highway heading West.

There are warning signs for Uneven Surface.

It has always been uneven........there is loose chip all over the place.:shit::shit:

Cost: One scratched RH fairing, scratched engine cover and a bent brake lever. One pride taking a hit. One insurance claim.

I will contact Ak City and tell them there signs are incorrect.

Bummer. I'm guessing you'll want to contact Auckland Transport not Auckland Council.

Good luck getting any kind of reply out of them though, they're hopeless at returning emails/queries.

Is it both sides of the road? I normally get on at Mt wellington to head south in the afternoons. Guess ill just need to be a bit more cautious.

Further update.

Received a call from the contractor responsible. :first:

They were supposed to seal the chip's last night but had some issues.......not that I care.

I explained that the signage was insufficient and that the outcome for me could have been much worse. Another vehicle on my left would have been messy.

They are going to put more signs out this afternoon.

Will pass all information onto my insurance and see if they can make the contractor pay up.

Sorry, was it daylight or dark? Was your headlight out, did you not use this off ramp yesterday?
While I sympathise with your situation I've got to ask the obvious question.
How come?
How did this actually occur?
I'm serious, I don't like, not being informed ( signage wise) of road works either, but upon encountering them I usually slow sufficiently to be able to see, ascertain the surface and ride accordingly.
I sincerely hope that you get some recompense from the contractor for the lack of signage but I'd candidly suggest that as with most other single vehicle accidents, the operator was more at fault than anyone else or other circumstance.

a butthurt aucklander moaning that its someone elses problem that they fucked up.
Boofuckinghoo.
Would you whine if you stuck your hand in a blender, because someone forgot to put a sign up?
Jesus fucking fuck. Ride to the conditions and learn to do phat skidz.
