For a coffee cart - as if there weren't enough

"Wellington City Council has no intention of removing existing free motorcycle parking from the streets in the Wellington CBD, contrary to a media report."

Fuck you very much Celia Wade-Brown.

I can't think of another motorcycle park on Courtney (other than Les Mills one), but I might be wrong.

If I recall the deal was free parks n exchange for not using car parks or parking on footpaths, if the parkings removed then it stands to reason that the conditions are also removed

Argh - the fekkers! Don't do spybook - so if you could keep us updated with any developments here I would be most appreciative.

From memory we're not 'allowed' to take up a car parking space for the 2 hours free parking either (after 6pm). :bash:

That would have been one of the largest MC parks in Wellington CBD if not the largest and always crammed full on weekdays. What a loss, especially coming on top of the rearrangement in Mercer Street. I think the message is clear, this may be the 'coolest little green capital in the world' but we want you to drive cars everywhere like normal people do.

There are obviously not enough parking wardens being stabbed in Wellytown.

We (the KB family) need to get into this and start making sensible comments and "likes" on this stuff page - pro motorcycle. The anti brigade are.

"We" don't "need" to do anything, and KB is about the furtherest you can get from "family". Some people on KB actually like each other.

Suck it up.

That parking deal? Bullshit. It's a bylaw that prevents us from using metered car parking. Oh and watch how feral parking building owners go when you use your work park for your bike. Fucking hilarious.

I knew Jon Visser was a liar. Seeing as Celia Wade-Brown likes to identify with cyclists, I think I'll start fucking with the cocks who ride through pedestrian areas like the Wellington waterfront, at speed. I'll be aiming for red light running cyclists too. Just in case it's CW-B.

Oooo quick, vote in a pointless poll that is simply designed to foment rage on both sides of the "argument" and increase the comment count! Quick! Vote! It's your right!

If you are not parked on the road, do you have to display you numberplate, warrrent and rego?:motu:

The inimitable Jon Visser from WCC popped in here a couple of years or more ago and warned people not to park there.

I smell an anti-bike pattern here. Funny this clampdown happening just after they start ticketing bikes lane splitting. Maybe we should all get Big Mac trucks with long trailers and commute ever day in them. Then the moaning public might learn to appreciate that we are doing them a favour by commuting on a bike.

Less work than doing it on a bike.

Is the whole area being confiscated or just part of it for the Koffee Kart? (as if we need another one of those!!)

You will effectively loose the lot... She will want to drive up to her poxy cart in some lumbering 4WD and really do you want your bike sitting there while some coffee swilling idiot is looking for some placew to sit...

Christ on a crutch that area is practically awash with bloody coffee.... Best just don't buy her shit and encourage everyone else not to...

Pointless, I know. And I'm not really suggesting this at all. And I'm not even saying that as a way of saying it without saying it.

But, I just had a thought of heaps of, um, people queuing up at that new coffee cart, just to get to the end of the queue, spend time looking at the options and then "change their mind" and not buy anything. Would be funny.

(But I wouldn't go to that effort myself; so really not suggesting it.)

If you guys are ever looking for a place to rest while staying with your bike, park it up awkwardly at this new coffee shop.

Committment from the council to do a bit more re resolving spaces, communication channels opened and a few councilors (Andy Fostor fr one would you believe) batting for us

Ha - for real. What a weirdo. Well, that's good news anyway - cheers BRONZ.

James Deuce

I'd rather have no parking than deal with Foster. He gets a FREE, you saw it here, FREE punch in the face.

James Deuce
7th March 2014, 20:13
Oh, and given BRONZ's abundant political naivety, I have no doubt that Foster will manage to extract a deal out of this that results in a lowered breath alcohol limit for motorcyclists because "he" got us 3 motorcycle parks outside the Aro Valley Dairy.
