Hi,

I bought a GN250 and its great but Ive noticed recently a smell of petrol in the garage.
I saw today that its slowly dripping out of a tube by the footstand, have I overfilled it or is there something more complicated at play?

Thanks

My advice would be to stop it leaking.:niceone:

And don't smoke around it. :nono:

Find out where it's leaking from - could be a sticky float valve in the carb causing it to overflow, could be cracked fuel tube from the petcock or from the carb, etc.

Leaking from a tube by the footstand suggests an Overflow pipe.

Check where/what said tube is connected ... my guess it wil be the tank overfill drain tube.

My $ would be on an overfill

Don't think these have an overfill pipe on the tank.. I've had mine leaking out of the cap before anywhere else (filled upright then leaned to stand)

It's probably the carb overflow, as was already said.. Although it could be the carb drainage pipe. Of it leads up to the bottom of the carb with the drainage screw next to it, make sure the screw is fully tightened... A make sure you're not tuning your idle or mixture screw accidentally lol.

Those things leak out of the overflow if they lean too far to the left, put a wee bit of wood under your sidestand. :niceone:

Or lean it to the right.

My old GN did that for years. The secret was to turn the fuel tap off each time I finished riding. It didn't half make a mess if I forgot though.

Folks,
Thanks so much for the responses.
Ive turned the fuel tap off and it seems to have stopped the leaking.
Thanks

If it leaks again, use a naked flame, such as a lighter to find out where it's coming from. Then put the flame by the suspected leak to confirm that you've found it.

You're welcome.
