Kevin (Wharfy on KB) crashed at the Cliffhanger Hill Climb yesterday and didn't survive his injuries. His name has been made public so those in the racing community who didn't know, here tis also when Kevins Funeral details are available they will appear in this thread.
Anyone from out of town wanting some accomadation to attend his funeral I can park people and bikes and feed them, I'm in the Lower Hutt area. Anyone else who would like to help out in the same way feel free to post here.
To all those who knew and admired Kevin take a moment to think of how you enjoyed him at the track or outside of racing. Whether he was riding or waving flag or doing among other things editing the Victoria Motorcycle clubs 'Oily Rag' newsletter he was and still is a valuable member of our racing community.
A Great tree has fallen.

Our company sold a number of goods and services to Wharfy. Although I spoke to him only relatively superficially he was a thoroughly decent and sincere chap that you could always have a cordial conversation with. His political leanings were a polar opposite to mine but its a measure of the man he was that it was no impediment to him having a polite attitude to people of all types and persuasions.
If Wharfy ( as a quiet chap ) had something to say it was usually worth saying. That's very pleasant when there are so many that just espouse BS all the time. I sincerely hope that Wharfy is comfortable and happy ''upstairs''.

For those who are interested, there will be a motorcycle escort for Wharfy on Friday morning, from his home in Robert st, Newlands to the funeral venue in Whitby. We will be leaving at 9am. This is a busy little street so please park considerately. Following the service we will be accompanying Wharfy from the church, to Pauatahanui then around Greys Rd toward Plimmerton. Once we are in Mana, the escort will then finish and the family will continue on to the crematorium. Please ride respectfully and do not interfere with the flow of other traffic.
