Hi

Whats the storm like in your area?

North Otago 1200 Sat. High cloud no wind yet.

Have fuelled the landrover and generator and have put my hunting pack in the back of the truck. Hopefully I won't be called out.

We're heading out for a fish in Porirua. Bit of a breeze but nothing out of the ordinary.

...some of the best fishing comes with a bit of turbulence...tightlines, I hope...have been eating some nice kahawai this week and there are two 14lb plus salmon in the fridge...one from the Hurunui mouth and one from the Waimakariri mouth...just goes to show, they dont mind coming in when the rivers and sea are dirty and silted to fuck...

No hint of any weather change coming from any direction.

Lusi track goes right over my sister's place so nothing will eventuate from it ... she will not tollerate rain wind or any other inclemancy!

Lusi will pack up and peter out rather than face my sisters wrath .. won't happen, it never rains at her house .... ever! NEVER!

Very windy here in the far north and some heavy rain but not a patch on Bola

Akzle
15th March 2014, 15:33
yeah. Sweet as here.
Wind gusting 50kt, rains been horizontal since 3am, its nearly blown all the hookers out from underneath the caravan. Hard to keep the lighter going long enough for a cone. Fuken state of it.
Roads a fuken mess but neither chainsaw or rope was actually required to get out. Might go drop one across 1 just for lulz.

Windy, a few fronds blown off the palm trees, no damage. Finished our day and went for a walk to the beach to check out the surf. Find a rather large, drunk woman attempting to go swimming in jeans. She wanted to be dinner for the whales she told us. Another call to the cops (might share the reason for the first call later) to come and get her, a surfer had to haul her out the first time, Mark and another passer by went and got her the second time.

High tide at 7:30, there is going to be carnage to the beach front, the surf is HUGE!

Jeez, you've got me worried now, and I don't know where the dog is. I might just give them a call.

Mind you I don't hold out much hope. My internet connection went down yesterday for a bit, the 111 operator was a right bitch about it.

We had a power outage for what seemed like forever. I armed the kids with knives and strategically placed them around the house in case the darkies that come out when it's dark darkened our door. Felt sorry for the littly, but she's the only one light enough to hang on the coat rack whilst remaining hidden amongst the jackets.

That's worrying. They don't seem to recognize a real emergency when it comes up. I still have to call them about this strange stuff falling from the sky. It's just everywhere. People are trying to convince me it is just water, those poor ignorant fools, but I am sure it is responsible for the sun vanishing.

Indeed. It is in fact dihydrogen monoxide. Ban it I say!

Not so much dark at the moment - more of a grey. And the grey seems to drift across the cityscape. No sun, either.
And quite a bit of that rain stuff. At least, that's what they say it is...

3mm of rainfall recorded overnight. Currently 21 degrees outside and flat calm. 9 tenths high overcast with the sun breaking through. Cyclone? What cyclone?

...well, they got it right with the rain for our locality, lots...it's dropping straight out of the sky though...wind is fairly light...I'm glad I did my ditches and drains...haven't been down to check the river and it's flow yet...I'd say there will be more wet floors inside for a few... it's just weather...

Pissed off I can't go play in the mud toady. Got stung by a bee, on the eyebrow, on Friday. Little bugger lodged itself between me lid and forehead. Must have been a dirty bee because I'm all infected & my right eye is almost swollen closed. Another weather calamity!

Thanks for the thought. We were tickety boo. Our house is out of the wind. Rain was constant but not deluge so no significant slips. Debris on the roads & storm surge. A lucky one. A few trees down on friends properties higher up, though. Lovely & sunny today, catching up on fixing the bathroom lino, only taken me a year..
