$11,000 for a scooter is just too much in my opinion.

Then again, some will say the price of many exotic bikes are way over what the bike delivers. I guess it comes down to, if the bike is what you want, and you can afford it then its not over priced.

Has anyone bought one of these?

People are stupid, and this gay little hipster scooter will probably sell out instantly.

And a top speed of 30 as a result.

Look at me!

Yeah, nah.

I have a confession to make. A few years ago I was on an Autobahn hanging on to my bike for grim death well in excess of the imperial ton.
A well rounded bloke in t-shirt & shorts came past me on one of those super scoots, not a vespa. He was texting.
I've never quite recovered from it.

To be honest, I have never ridden or owned a Vespa. But starting at $5,000 for a 50cc model, I cant see me bothering with one. To my mind a scooter is/should be a simple, cheap basic mode of two wheeled transport. It I do buy another scooter it would be a Japanese model.

My Yamaha 100cc cost me $2200 13 months ago. Since then, I have clocked up 16,000k covering the central nth isl, without a single thing breaking, coming loose or needing replacing, apart from tyres and one set of front brake pads. If it crapped out tomorrow, I would have had my moneys worth.

$11,000 would buy a decent motorbike in my opinion.

That kind of wear & tear indicates you should settle petal. Rough. Heavy handed even.

"An LCD display hints at the 946's high-tech underpinings, which include an ABS braking system and for the first time on any Vespa: traction control"

Who the fuck was designing the vespa and thinking "this 125 3 valve motor is far too powerful, even with a centrifugal clutch it might spin up the rear, in the rain, on gravel, covered in diesel. Better slap us some TC on this beast".

That's got even less chance of finding its way into my garage. For 15 grand, I could buy 15 of these:niceone:

On second thoughts, maybe the 946 Vespa isn't so bad.

One day I will take a Vespa for a ride and see what it is like.

Traction control might cut back on the wheelies.

I saw a 946 in the flesh yesterday. It's a work of art.
