^^ +1 except for one minor detail.
Any one else think it strange that the people move came around the corner while the rider has a green light?

Still could And should have saved it if he had spent some of those thousands on rider training.

Riding on the right, indicates it could be USA. If so, there is a free right turn even on reds, provided you give way to everything else (would be akin to a free left turn for us).

Conveniently blurred out speedo :-)

31st March 2014, 08:21
Like an awful lot of crap drivers, the car wasn't clearly heading for a lane and initially appeared to be heading out to the middle of the road. Rider guessed that was whats happening and aimed under. He guessed wrong.

Riders bike needed a louder exhaust. Then the cager would have known he was there.

The rider has a huge anount of money and no road sense ...

He shouldn't have been in the situation in the first place*, but I reckon he had escape room on the left of the SUV. (Yes, post #16, the SUV swung wide, but soon enough was on the right).

(* due to both his riding, and the SUV)

Is it just me or does he wait to get on brakes at very the last minute? Could have braked much much sooner IMO. Looks like he's speeding too

TheDemonLord

Ouch!

My first thought is that I would have done the same, but then I am thinking from the perspective of we drive on the left and overtake on the right.

Bad decisions (plural) on the part of the Biker
Bad lane discipline on the part of the Cager (singular)

Gotta go 66 -33 in favour of the Cager on this one

Reading the comments elsewhere about it, it looks like he's had a couple of crashes before and this was a borrowed bike!
He was going well faster than other traffic and there was so much time to make good decisions.

James Deuce

Every rider can be held responsible for every crash they're involved in, not least because we are held to a much higher standard of road sense and capability by both the authorities and ourselves. Other people can indulge in massive fuckwittery up to and including vehicular homicide with no consequences, provided the vehicle has 4 or more wheels.

A motorcyclist doing a standing wheely on an empty piece of country road can be dobbed in by a quad bike-riding helmetless farmer and charged with careless use of a motor vehicle and sustained loss of traction because the front wheel isn't providing any, on the word of a moron who thinks a flat-deck hilux is the height of vehicular technology.

The guy in the video is just a fuckwit who should stick to punting 911s backwards into hedges. He's not a rider, he's not a motorcyclist, he's not a biker, he's piece of dried giraffe excrement who has been colonised by single-celled organisms excreted from a syphlitic whore's bottom, that has somehow assembled something approching enough sentience to get a license and a paycheck/inheiritance. He didn't make a mistake, he IS a mistake. A cosmically hilarious one.

Have been waiting to see this video for a little while now. This guy is a well known motovlogger on YouTube, one of the more popular ones. He's gaining a reputation of being quite a reckless rider really, he's binned an R6 on camera before also.

The Panigale wasn't even his actually either. One of his subscribers on YouTube loaned him it because his bike wasn't running/was stolen or something, I forget.

Yes. Just to be clear, my rant was a more a reflection of my perception of the media and officialdom's apparent attitude to motorcycling and the targeted deconstruction of an idiot. Sort of like kicking the ball into his nuts, thereby playing the ball and the man.

not strange at all. in the usa (not sure if that's where the vi was taken) you are allowed, in most states, to take the 'easy turn' even when you have a red light. given the speedo being blanked out, an the rider travelling a reasonable amount faster than the car he passes earlier in the clip, I'd say the fucktard got what he deserved.

Personally - I hate Vlogs,

No problem with someone videoing a ride and then afterwards doing voice over to talk about a topic, but riding while talking results in several things:

1: Long winded rambling as opposed to concise and insightful points
2: a Distracted rider who is thinking about the Views they are going to get on pootube as opposed to the road.

Have you heard the Panigale? It's not exactly quiet with the standard exhaust, never mind if he's got the Termignoni's on. Went out for a ride with my mate on his Panigale. While at the front of the group I could hear him at the back over everybody else

I was quite surprised actually. In a van with a mate, him driving. Windows down, 50kph area. Bike comes past, splitting through vehicles. I only heard the bike when he was probably a few metres off the rear quarter of the van. Both of us ride, we both commented how little we heard the bike. I'm picking it was an RSV or similar.

I drive a truck most days ... and even with the windows down I seldom hear them until (as) they pass me. I need to watch the mirrors ... so I usually see them coming. The headlight is a good early warning for those that look for it.

Bikes with standard exhaust systems I seldom hear at any point .... regardless of windows up/down or radio on/off ...

I see a lot of idiot overtaking by bikers traveling either towards me ... or going in the same direction as me ...

I thought that. Over took his mate, fair enough. Overtook the guy they caught up with, yeah, ok. Perhaps gave it a bit too much in to the next corner to show off? Meh. It was not a hard corner and he should have made it. Probably checking his mirrors at the wrong time.

I thought it seemed like he could have easily taken it had he kept looking through it. Assumed he was looking at the car as it came around and by then it was too late to tighten the line as he was heading for it.

The wheelie was accidental and they're learner riders. They're also teenagers/in their early 20s. I'm sure you were young once?

If you can read, go back and re read what I wrote... I said it was accidental, still stupid and he narrowly missed crashing into the side of the other cars he had filtered past. I was young once yep, but I didn't go round filming my fuck ups so I could get a youtube following. That crash was one of many, even in the intro the other guy nearly goes over then bars stopping for an intersection.

Again if you read what I wrote I wasn't compering It to the other video... It was in reply to Berries comment about how strapping a cam to your helmet turns you into a fuckwit. These guys are prime examples. I did have a laugh watching though.

I saw, and I was simply reiterating that it was accidental. Were GoPros around when you were younger? If not, you can hardly judge those two guys for doing what they do. You may have very well done the same if in the same opportunity at the same age.

Strapping a camera to your helmet turns you into a fuckwit as much as riding a motorcycle turns you into a gang member. Laughing at someone else's misfortune kinda makes you the fuckwit.

Sorry, didn't mean for it to come across like I think you're old and jaded. Just irks me a bit when people get too judgey about the antics of younger people or people who have every right to film their riding if they want to.

Back to the topic of the Panigale and the whole tangent of talking while riding and uploading the footage – I don't see a problem with it at all so long as it doesn't endanger anyone else or anyone else's property. In the OPs video this obviously isn't the case however.

You could even argue that riding with a camera makes you somewhat more accountable for your riding and your actions.
