ok guys, I'll throw this out there so you can do the thinking for me. And you can steal my good idea from below as payment.
I used to carry a small container full of oil but it eventually got punctured after a decade rattling around bottom of airboxes. It was like 100ml, maybe 200ml bottle I got with a weed-eater, but re-filled with real oil.
Just in case I ran out & only had 4 stroke peeps about which is more common these days. I also carry a 1.5m length of fuel line (just rundown the side of the bike behind the rad) to siphon from one bike to another. But you need some oil to drop in. 100ml would give you 4l which if you've spilled some or forgotten to refill should get you back.
I'm going to carry in back of the pocket in my camel back so it needs to be small & not as thin as one of those 'plasticbox' polythene bottles.
Ideas?

Medicine bottle? I've used the proper bottle ones and pill ones for carrying dish washing liquid tramping. The bottles work well and can take a knock, the pill bottle things are not as good but usable.

Already on it cuz, I carry 200ml in a lawnmower oil container filled with sweet, sweet TTS in my camelback side pocket.

I even considered my old hip flask I never use these days as its shaped well, but ridiculously small hole in the top of it rules it out. Maybe I need to go to the local mower shop & see if they have small bottles.
Thanks for ideas. Any more container ideas?
PS I have cable tied to my lower frame rails a spare gear lever (having lost one a few km into a loop & never found it. Was a slow trip back. + brake & clutch lever. Also a bicycle pump to my rad hose under the plastic shroud so I can let down a tyre on a silly muddy uphill & re-inflate, or if I get a slow leak.

I used to use one of those 500ml metal drink bottles, but that seems too big for you. A stainless hip flask would do the trick - you usually get them as freebees with a logo if you buy X amount from a supplier.

yeah I did say that but my one has a Brass Monkey logo. Still a bit small in the top.

What about a bit of threaded plastic pipe? glued one end.
For the MX bike i used to use a big arse syringe, they actually would work for you probably and have graduations and all ask a vet they have huge syringes.
Great for bleeding brakes too, but i guess you know that already the 300 probably came with one..........

A little while back I cleaned Don at Pitlane out of 150ml plastic tubes with (I think) Motul in them. One shot use fuel mix.
Just a little bigger than a toothpaste tube, obviously marketed just for this use, no idea if they're still available or if they were samples.

How do measure out the petrol in those situations?

you're stuck in the boon docks. Your mate has gas (or a passer by so I keep a few$ next to it to barter with) so you estimate an amount in & add some oil. you only need to get 20k, probably less. Engine won't care if its 20:1 or 60:1, I mean you might go a little easy to be sure, but you will seize solid if you run no oil.

Sound ideal. Might have a look around the chainsaw shops, seen some stihl stuff on the webb

ok I think the chainsaw shop wins. 100ml bottle of Husqvana oil for $6. So light & small I won't even notice it in the bag.
- you know I'm not even going to swap the oil. Rated 50:1, I think with a decent mix of it it will get me back home if I need it without causing undue wear for 30min running. If it gets punctured in a few years time or a tumble I'll just buy another. I might never use it but glad to know its there.
Pity, there's a nice space under the GG's sidecover that you can't get to that would easily carry it. Heck, maybe I'll look for a place behind the headlight. . .

Fucking obvious I would have thought
Sell the stinky two stroke and buy a four stroke, problem solved

But they sound 'orrible & don't have that zap, even if they can have mondo power, its just not the same. Bit like sex with a German gym instructor I imagine. Efficient, gets you there, but not particularly exciting.

As a German gym instructor I resent that
