I have made the decision to ride something a little bigger than 250 Production this year. So the next month is going to be spent preparing a bike... Who else is keen for the 90s class?

The Carbies class is designed for those that HAVE an old bike already and want to race it against similar era bikes.

Hope to have the RGV out again this year.
Still no tyre warmers though. (it makes a good excuse for coming last )

Good on you.
I don't even have Stands yet.... But my intention is to make the once awesome looking road bike become a flash race bike over the next few seasons as time and money allow....

i find tire warmers to much like hard work . l should at lease pull the bike out and give it a once over , 12 year old tires should be fine

Maybe we need to revise the rules to make it more Formula style. Remove some restrictions?

Fuck that! I'm fitting race rubber to a bog standard RF900 with a hundred thousand k's on the clock. Don't want people out there on effectively modern superbikes do ya?

Realistically, 90s F1/2/3 could be cool. A full F1 spec R1 would near cut nationals superbike pace I should expect. Mibbee not quite minute fives round Manfeild, but well sub tens.

Carbie F1, F2, and F3? All the other rules as on www.vicclub.co.nz/info.php only must have carbs.

Drew

Actually, ya don't even need the F3 class. F3 is made up of half old and half new stuff now.

Piss off, that's my class.

Na, don't remove some of the restrictions.
Would be great to have another Production looking class......

Funny thing is me and a mate were chewing the fat at work and come up with this very concept back in 2010.....
So great minds and all that.

Anyhow, I have made a start....
After spending 4 hours tinkering away in the nice sun I have got about half way there....
Going to take the calliper bolts to work to drill. My bit (in the $10 Repco kit) is a little soft for them.

SO, if you know anybody who needs some CBR 600 F2 bits, I might have some....
Head Light, passenger Sissy Bar, Speedo Cable, Side Stand, Centre Stand, LH Passenger Foot Rest (1993 Alloy Model)... and a few other little things.

1. THE DATING OF REPLICATED MAJOR COMPONENTS IS DEFINED AS THE YEAR OF MANUFACTURE OF THE ORIGINAL COMPONENT BEING REPLICATED.
Major components are:

All engine and gearbox external castings.
Frames
Swing arms
Brakes
Forks and fork yokes
Carburettors (any carbs as long as it's carburetted)

That looks good to me.

5th April 2014, 17:54
Exactly what I was thinking.

If it ain't smokin' - it's broken.

what about only changing one of the rules .. thats it ?

mr bucketracer

Which one?

If it ain't smokin', it's broken.depending on the bike i guess , in my case it would be the forks , brothers case and berts the frame . but only one change per bike

Are you saying you're going to become an official?

If it ain't smokin', it's broken.until anyone can go under the lap record in the class of the time ...ie f3 113.8 . i would not get to worryed about the bike .. but thats just me .. we know its mainy up to the rider to go fast
