Suzuki New Zealand have reintroduced the UZ125 scooter to sell alongside the AN125. Unfortunately the price seems to have gone up quite a bit compared with the $2600 or so when it was last sold here. RRP is $3795 + ORC although it does have an LED dash which the old model didn't. Also a couple of variations on the UZ50. Seems to be just small body differences as all three scooters have the same RRP.

The Yamaha 125 range of scooters start at about $4,200 + orc so the price isn't too bad compared to the other Japanese scooters. I bought a UZ125 back in 2008 new for $2,600 or there abouts. Good scooter, but no way I would buy that age technology for $3,800 2nd time around.

That "updated" UZ125 just looks cheap and nasty. Ok, the motors are probably strong enough (for a 125), but has Suzuki's R & D dept gone on strike? No restyling of the panel work and don't even mention those ugly 10" pressed biscuits that they call wheels.

The new UZ125 for $3795, makes buying the 2014 Piaggio Fly 150 EFI look pretty good at $3695 (Red Baron price).

Yeah, $3800 is way too much especially when you add on the outrageous 'on road cost' of $477.53 for 12 months rego and plate. I think $2800 - 3000 would be more like it. The only thing it's got over the AN125 is fuel injection and the LED dash and that scooter sells for $2699 (was $2499 during the summer promotion). The UZ50 is getting a little pricey as well at $2350, it may have FI but it's a tiny barebones scooter in all other respects, not even a front disc brake.

From what I've read, the carb'd version doesn't give anything much away to the fuel injection as far as performance, or economy goes.

I can remember getting a horrendous first service bill from the local Suzuki agent for my UZ125. Itemized was " strip and clean carburator ".
