there's just no justice in the world (https://nz.finance.yahoo.com/news/man-tries-sue-google-10m-014232071.html)... unless you can afford it that is.

Razdan Rafiq, an undischarged bankrupt, was the subject of a post on [blog], which labelled him "nutbar" and a "serial moaner".

He is suing Google New Zealand for $10 million for defamation.

... thus justifying the post in the first place.

That's one take...

That's one take...

You don't think that suing the (incorrect) company for such an outlandish sum shows a little bit of a loose grasp on reality? When was the last time someone in New Zealand received $10 million dollars in defamation damages?

He also tried to sue someone else for $2 million - which starts to look 'serial'.

 you do realise to whom you are addressing? Other than that, the guy does seem to have loose grasp on reality... although he should have been allowed to get a judgement and not have the case stopped due to money. Essentially it's no different to the guy that was chasing Banks or Craig v's Norman or any other variation of he said she said. Well, at least this challenge woulda been fuckload more entertaining.

Wasn't it $2 billion?

2 billion it says, a bit outlandish me thinks  Plays race card, swears at cops, wastes court time; fucker.

Ha! You are right. $2 billion. Well, gee - I should probably retract my statement.

I did however just have the joy of discovering the post he is trying to sue for on cqae.co.nz

Which includes the fabulous letter he sent to the IRD.

No-one - the highest pay out ever was just ovr $1million - and that was an out-ofr-copurt settlement. The defendents knew they were going to loss and a loss ould have cost them more ...

This is worth noting

Associate Judge Doogue said Mr Rafiq's case had "little prospect of success" and there was legitimate concern that he couldn't afford the costs.

"Given the extraordinary and obscene communication which the plaintiff (used)... the blogger may very well have a defence of honest opinion," the judgment said.

Even the court judge is telling the dipshit he's on a losing run ..

I'd be a little careful about this and I think the safest thing would be for the mods or yourself to dump this post ...

I'm not saying that you are doing anything wrong, or that there are any legal reasons to not post this - IN FACT EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE.

But this guy is a little insane and I'm sure that the people who run KiwiBiker don't want the hassle of any court action - justified or not, from Mr Crazy ... and I'm sure you don't need the hassle either ...

Safest/cheapest way is to not give this guy the opportunity - because it will cost you and/or KiwiBiker time and money ... Sometimes the safest way to deal with these people is to ignore them ... or dodge them

Fair call - Not hard to find. Done and dumped.
