Yeah, I think it has very limited/specific cultural appeal. If you look at most 'western' motorcycle advertising it is about being different, standing out, heading out on your own. Not much scope for selling motorcycles here as 'you'll be one of the faceless crowd' (and look like part of the policing/military machine).

Interesting ad.
Nothing new in an Asian invasion though. Some of the Chinese factories are huge. Triumph Bonnevilles have been made in Thailand for years, Triumph now have three factories there apparently. KTM and Harley Davidson models are made in India now. Brembo have a partner factory there too. Honda are turning out bikes in new factories in different parts of Asia. Mahindra (India) are getting near the sharp end of Moto3 and may well have a podium finish this season.
And it's really only just getting started.

Probably of no interest to anyone, but here is an article on importing Chinese Motorcycles, as a business venture. Or more so, the pitfalls of doing so.

I have started to refuse to work on Chinese shit, too hard to get parts for, and everything breaks when you touch it.
Another offering...

Interesting how many "prestige" vehicles are manufactured - not assembled - in China.
