i'm looking at 2 different bikes on trade-me and wanted your opinion on which one would be better
the 2009 is longer away has had at-least 2 owners he is not sure how many owners its had more kms but is newer.
night rod is older but only 2 owners less ks and has all the paper work.

If you are unsure, getting a bike independently inspected is always a good idea.
Looks like one is a private sale - the other is from a dealer. The dealer will give some sort of warranty, the private sale probably won't.
Based on what you've said, the fsh, 2-owner, low kms bike would be my preference, but to be fair neither have really done anything. Big V-twins run for a long time if properly maintained.

If you buy private make absolutely sure there is no money owing.
If there is you pay the amount outstanding to the finance company, and the balance to the owner. No exceptions, dont trust anyone.

Both km's are low enough to be inconsequential. Do everything (fluids, filters, pads etc) when you buy it and start fresh. In saying that I would go for the newer, larger displacement model.

thanks for the reply's the dealer will give a 3 month or 3000 k labor free warranty and say its just had a big service with amps so am leaning more towards the later 2009.
thanks again

I'm not keen on the pipes on the muscle - bad design if it needs heat wrap to avoid your leg and don't look very good physically . Each to their own - maybe they have the stock pipes too?
Make a rude offer to the dealer as well - drop a couple K off the asking price and see what happens.

I've got an 09 muscle. Great bike. Get the 1250 not the 1130. But I'm not sure about those pipes. Crap job wrapping ( took the wrap off another bike I had once and they had wrapped road rash) it would be annoyingly drone like when cruising.
check if they are imports too because the alarm and ABS is optional in the USA. If they're not optioned, they are expensive.

That one has almost 5 times the km's of the one the OP was looking at. And is in Northland. (The other is a a lot closer to Wanga's)
$17,000 (maybe less) offered CASH to the owner of the Wellington one would get it I might think ... (And it IS fitted with an Alarm)

thanks for the reply's yes did not like the look off the wrapped pipes on the muscle but like the look of the bike its self
might keep an eye out and get a hold of the owner off the night rod too have a look at it.

Depends on how hard you thrash it but the lowest has been about 220kms, best has been about 270 Kms. Having said that, never run out either.
