View Full Version : Radar detector power box voltage?

When I bought my latest acquisition it had a Ram Tech deck radar detector mount and wiring.

I don't want to have a radar detector but I was wondering what I could repurpose the power supply for. It is a fused pair of cables that go from the battery to a black box with a RJ45 cable and a green led.

Do all radar detectors require the same voltage? If so what is this likely to be?

1 & 2 thanks. 3 easier said than done. I removed it from the loom when I put wider bars on.
I had expected that it would be marked what voltage it was so I could decide later to bin it, sell it or re purpose it.

If these are indeed a non standardised item I'll hook it up to a battery and see some time.

Thanks.

youre in ork land. The warehouse will sell you a piece of chinese shit for 20$ that will do it. Hell, ripco, supercheap, jaycar etc.
Open the box, if you somehow manage to cross connections (like have fat fingers and trying to get obese chinese probes into a phone jack) you run the risk of cooking it.
