good morning , I located this forum whilst doing some searching

I hope that some people in new Zealand/Australia might be able to help, most of the forums that mention the ts185 are American based and I don,t think they received the same models (er range) as I/you lot did

anyone with a 1980 onwards ts 185? ,

I have some questions

ok , cheers , that one was a much later 12v thingy ? to save anyone having to come back to ask "what info do you need" , question 1) the carb is a mikuni vm26 , all the online sites (mainly USA) say differently , Haynes (book of lies) only seems to cover upto 79 , ie previous model with a ridiculously small main jet.

all the online manuals seem to be a 125 with a 185 supplement

question: main jet size?

2) I seem to have slighty smaller 125 forks 42 mm instead of 43 , they are the type with a rubber bung at the top covering a 3/8 - 1/2 in squared hole in the top nut , the 185 models had adjustable forks , mine hasn't , oil level? (possibly a ts125er)

Oh love the old school Suzi's TS's had a few 125,185x2. You can get air fork caps I did mine by turning down XR200 ones , fit better shocks 1/2 inch longer helps, take a long 12mm drill bit and drill a hole up the exhaust muffler helps it breath and rev out. Check your oil pump/two stroke is set correctly these can affect your power delivery as its running far to lean/ over supply of oil gumming every thing up. You should replace piston and rings every 6000 miles .

cheers , hav,nt done anything to the forks yet , however when I bought it there was no baffle in the back, a long search http://www.suzukisimon.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ located one , and it runs better with it in. the crank seal went and it drank the g/box oil , due to work etc ,
I ended up refilling it 3 times before I got time to do the seals , the exhaust was well and truly "oiled" set too with the oxyie torch can got it glowing , then went to "thermic lance" mode , internals glowing , kill acetylene and hit the oxy , little white rings moved up the outside and I upset the neighbours ! have set the oil pump correctly (removable screw on carb side/marker on slide = mark on pump) , for some reason the circlip on the piston "did one" and wrecked the barrel piston , it was on + 1.5 mm and a rebore would not have removed the marks on the barrel low down , a £5 hone job from my local engine garage sorted this out , however the only pistons at +1.5 are chineeze and crap.
