Anyone have some info re how to either:

1. Change software in the central console so that the car starts speaking English.

or if not possible then...

2. How to make her shut-up?

My thoughts would be to check if it takes an OBDII cable, plug in the lappie and flash the programming you found on the lexus forums..... then call a mechanic to fixed your FUBARed car if you've got it wrong...... hahahahahaha

Just start pushing buttons. Even with no idea what they say you'll be able to get a feel for how the menu systems work pretty quickly. Then it's just a matter of eliminating the ones that don't do what you want.

Might sound frustrating but commit to 10 minutes without punching it and you'll probably get there.

Does the Lexus use a DVD for navigation maps and so on? My Honda Accord does, but if the disk is taken out of the drive once its loaded then the voice goes away. Only needs to be loaded once, and everything else keeps working (touch screen controls for aircon, audio, etc.)until the battery is disconnected anyway.

Pop down to your local Uni and ask the first Japanese student to fix it for you :-)

You're welcome.
