It was a blimmin' hoot all right! Talk about everyone in wellie turning up!!

Lewis's first ride was not an epic. Possibly 20km return before his VFR750's throttle called it quits. (plastic bit that hold the cable nipple)

Rainbow Wizard impressively fixed it (get you home mode) after I failed miserably bodging it with and old milk bottle washer (thanks LB and Hamish)...

So... Having conned him into a ride, I got him broken down, couldn't fix it, insulted Velox and her trousers (I meant I'd like to be thin enough to get into trousers like that not... oh never mind...) and had to do gardening when i got home. Bums!

BUT - Joe Hannah turned up and I think I might get him to finish the trumpy engine.. Beats triping over the bloody thing all the time...

Cheers

LOL

Yeah right! That would rate even better (worse?) than "No honestly I was reading your tee shirt"

That was a pretty good impromtu welcome party eh?! I was impressed. There was at least Paul, Lynda, NC, crazylittleshit, Vasaline Warrior, MrMelon and me! Lewis - good to meet you mate, hope the bike gets back into shape asap! Come along on the Oct ride and meet a few more of us weirdos. Speaking of which, Paul - you're a laugh mate. Almost as much of a laugh as those damn trousers - argh.

A gallant effort mate, that plastic was a good idea but just too flimsy to do the business. I was wondering if that scrap of copper had held out enough to get Lewis home, pleased to hear it did.

LB caught up to me not far before Pauatahanui but courteously held back, maybe she figured a burst to get past those 4 litres was going to test the fluid retention a bit too much!!!!

Well met mate, bloody hoot alright.

That was Hamish who caught you up, not me. I was back a bit further.
(for clarification: I had loaned Hamish my 1000 for the day)
