Hey guys, sold my Gixxer on friday, and just picked up a new bike... '91 Kawasaki ZXR250C
Again its not in tip top condition and needs some work...
Its Dereg, and needs an indicator, the front brakes need work, and the left handle is loose, needs a service badly, and its really difficult to start...
Its only done 20,009kms
DIC (i think) can
Im keen to get it underway but am too poor now! need a few hundreds for my fiji trip in november and I dont have a regular job!

$1500.
If all goes well it will be a good deal, otherwise i should just break even selling it off as parts! (there are practically no zxr250c parts ANYWHERE!)

give me a PM, i've been down this road before. Its not hard an im pretty clued up on the ZXR now (i built one up from parts). I can help you with the superficial stuff (brakes and handle etc) might even be able to get it going nice too. Basically if its been sitting it needs to be ridden. My bike was the same... it ran shite for the first 1-2 weeks before clearing out and becoming a little rocket!

Mint? Mint?!?
Waddayarmean, "mint"?!?
Look, the man hisself said, "Again its not in tip top condition and needs some work... Its Dereg, and needs an indicator, the front brakes need work, and the left handle is loose, needs a service badly, and its really difficult to start..."
Mint = To all intents and purposes in the same condition as when it left the factory, as in a coin that's just been minted.
Or was it a typo? Didjamean "munt"? :spudwhat:
Anywaze, Rumble - congratumalations on the fantasmagorical semi-non-mint new ride. :niceone:

Unless Chris is short for Suney Cheung I dont think so...
I have now fixed all of the above plus got the tank lock to work, got it running...
Indicator $10
Spark Plugs $50 (and thats COST!!!)
all that remains is: tach doesnt work... and I have to do something about the top fairing...
I think I will do it that new ZX6R Lime green with zx2r stickers... but not til xmas I really need to start concentrating on uni...

I met up with Rodders (first time ive met a KB'er) and hes going to plastic weld the front fairing for me :) :Punk:
Now all I need is a Tachometer (after this one died....) and im sussed for compliance... SO IF YOU KNOW OF ONE!!! ;)

Well today...
I went to CORSA motorcycle dismantlers just up the road from me...
bought a very cosmetically damaged ZXR250A tacho
Took it home cut up my original and just as I cut into the A tach, I got a call from Red Baron - they had a very mint condition one for $120 so I went and grabbed it...
Wasted some cash on the A but ended up with a mint one... So I decided to finish the circuit board swap which came out mint as!
When the tach is in the cluster you cannot even tell it was modified... works perfectly... SO if anyone needs a tach gimmie a PM!

Got her all Vinned and shit today! :2thumbsup :2thumbsup Only took about 4 hours... They fully measure the frame up with all sorts of shit, measured the forks (Mt Wellington VTNZ) to find it 100% perfect. Just the front fairing was a little out hit on the forks to I had to do some handy with a file! (And chain was loose, easy peasy).
Well its good to be on the road again!
Owes me just over $2500 Ended up having to buy a speedo cable last night, new rear disc and pads, and a new tach, new plugs and a few bobs.
Not a bad price considering it only needs a repray to be in mint condition!
