this is awesome...I work in the mental health recovery field and identify with this cause...recognising it as a significant and unfortunately growing problem for our teens...if I can get the okay to ride on behalf of our team I'll be there with some resources we can share around...
I'll let yall know next week how I go...
regardless I'd like to thank you all for caring enough to start this event...

And just wanted to add this:

You know how we are told in advertising that the Road toll MUST COME DOWN! We are then told that it is the biggest killer of our young.

Well you better sit down, as it is a lie. There is another killer that takes double the quota each year:

In 2013 there was 66 15 - 24yo's killed on our roads (Ministry Of Transport)

In same period 138 in the same age bracket died of suicide. (NZ Chief Coroner).

It is time that something changed. Obviously the government/police are no good at helping here as they can not create a law to show that they are doing something. (Think the new restricted license tightening, dropping the alcohol limits, speed limits and list goes on). So it is up to us who give a damned to get involved.

Currently funding to help in preventing suicide is less than 10% of what is spent on getting the road toll down. Both are around the same figures/year: 500 suicides and 500 road deaths/year. Imagine what could be done to cut down the suicide rate if a little more funds were channelled there.

Cool! But I am not the one organising this. I just have some contacts with the ones who are in the middle of running this (Super Maori Fellas, Phil Paikea etc.) I noticed that the run was not on KB so I added it here. Ring one of the guys who were in the OP and they can tell you what they would love you to bring!

And... I think you forgot one 'L' in 'dilligaf'. Have tried to de-cipher the 'ruokigaf' but have failed. Help!
