http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/motorbikes/parts-for-sale/electrics/auction-724395619.htm these have an advance curve in them i have a five wire one on a 2 stroke minarelli i took off the six wire CDI

The sixth wire in most cases is the earth wire for ignition pick up and the CDI disconnects the pick up earth at a certain amount of revs

So if you permantly earth said wire you sidestep the rev limit.

If you dont have a spare CDI you would be better to buy a no rev limit one

my blue racig CDI was listed for 4 stroke but it has TZR50 written on it which is a Yamaha 2 stroke so I have used it on 2 and 4 stroke

a 4 stroke sparks every revolution every second spark dont do nothing

grab a quart of gasoline, pour it down the muffler and chuck a match after it.
once it's cooled down use a #2 Phillips to stab some holes in it.
replace your restrictive OEM airfilter with a (clean) sock.

az50s had a washer at the front of the exhaust but that's probably already been taken out?

Once you've done the exhaust washer check for a washer between the transmission cones (it lowers top speed)

Other mods you can do:
Pod filter (requires rejetting the carb - not too difficult)
Lighter rollers in the cvt to slow 'upshifting' of the trans
Remove material from the clutch plates to raise engagement rpm

Where abouts is the washer between the drive cones? Front or rear one?

Take it off the bike 1st..

Another tip to lighten it up......

Eat less pies.

go on ebay and get a barrel/piston kit to raise it to 80cc, remove the snorkel from the airbox, and change the main jet to a 80 or 85 and you will be happy. Kits on ebay are about $150 so I wonder why everyone isnt going this route...

Can anybody help me please. I have just used a youtube video to derestrict my 2013 Piaggio Zip 2T. I have put in a 60 jet and changed the needle to the middle position. It has worked partly, as I now have more mid range power and plenty of take off. I have a problem with the idle. It wont idle , I have played around with the idle screw, when cold and when its warmed up, it screams its head off. If I turn down the idle, it dies. Could there be an issue with the auto choke? Does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks.

Sorry its a 2t
Is the pilot jet blocked ?
Is it gravity feed or does it have a pump?
they say the first 20% is the pilot jet from there up to 80% is the needle setting and the top 20% is the main.

sounds like your close with the needle

You need to adjust the idle when the engine is at normal operating temp. Otherwise auto choke will just run it rich.
Most 2t that are restricted have a washer where muffler joins the header where the aperture is smaller than the rest of the pipe. Is that the case? Does removing it solve your problem?

Stupid phone / Tapatalk, apologies in advance.
