Okay, another dumb site history question, but this one is bugging me.

Where did "gargre" come from?

Oh no. You've awakened the monster of Mr Hitcher's worst nightmares. It's like something from H P Lovecraft.

We don't talk about the circumstances that brought gargre into the lexicon. Suffice it to say that there was once a member called sk8r_boi, and he ...Nnnoooooo I can't go on, it's too horrid. The flashbacks, the wailing and shrieking , I can't stand it. Someone with stronger nerves than I must enlighten you.

Back in the mists of time, the early days of this site there was a young fella by the name of sk8r_boi...

No, I can't do it - the screams, the screams...

Ask Hitcher, please, just ask Hitcher...

The Scottish Thread is "owned" by Zed. He can do the honours there.

As for the gargre? Indeed. We have the erstwhile sk8r_boi to thank for this gem, now a legitimate addition to the approved and authorised Kiwibiker lexicon. As too is "sprotsbike"...

And praking. I definately vote in favour of praking. You park a cage in a garage. You prak a sprotsbike in a gargre. It all makes sense.

Don't forget "communtering".
I'm also trying to get official recognition of Ixion's contribution: worngA.
As in: "I thought that was correct, but I am worngA".

Now then, Mr Hitcher, that's scarcely fair... I think there should be at least joint honours, don't you?

You should check that with Zed. His proprietorship is a matter of record...

And another famous entry for the lexicon is the crusier...

I totally agree! No one picked up on my use of "sprotsbikes" in another thread, I was really quite sad...

And what about Paul in NZs "jeaslously"?? We are still waiting for confirmation of exact meaning though.

Eh?? Vanilla ? The capital city of Philistia was Gaza. Other claimants ("capital" being a less specific term then) could have been Ashqelon, Ashdod, Ekron, and Gath. No Vanilla.

Nah, I sold it years ago. Sometimes wish I'd kept it, but then again, the bottom's fallen out of the market now. Wish I'd kept my Velo though.
