Price update: $6500!
Regrettably I have decided to sell my pride and joy. From when I first threw a leg over my old ZR250, the 05/06 ZX6R was the bike I dreamed of. Last year my dreams came true and I came across a tidy example in the exact colour I wanted.
I will be leaving the country at the beginning of next year and it's just not feasible to take her with me. A lot of things need organising, and money is going to be tight so she has to go.
I'll probably get a cheap runaround (car or bike) between now and when I leave, so part trades with cash my way will definitely be considered.
Ideally I'd like around $6800 - $7000 for it, but I'm happy to negotiate (especially with swaps), so try your luck!
I'm located in Hamilton.
Test rides are welcome, but only with a full license and the cash in my hand. If you drop it or damage it, you own it.

2005 Kawasaki ZX6R
Faster, with more torque, than most other SS600s.
It was the first model with the slipper clutch.
It has a more comfortable riding position than most others because the handlebars are situated slightly further back.
This model makes 130HP at the crank, with 114 at the wheel.
Was the first ZX6R with direct fuel injection.
Has compression, rebound, and preload adjustments for front and rear suspension.
Specifics:
New Zealand new
Warrant until 5-2-2015 (gets yearly warrants).
Rego expires 15 - 6 - 2014.
Has done 47,560 km, this may change as I'll still be riding it.
3 - 4mm tread left on front and rear tyres
Had big service ($1451) done at 35,353 km
Had full service done by Motorcycle Doctors at 43,160 km
Cam chain tensioner was failing (common problem on these bikes) so replaced with an APE manual tensioner at around 45,000 km
Had new front and rear sprockets and heavy duty chain at 47,008 km
Oil changed at 47,498 km
I have receipts for everything listed above.
Did a 1000km 3 day tour up north on her at the end of last year, she didn't miss a beat.
In addition, I take good care of my bikes and make sure everything is lubed and adjusted correctly. This bike is my primary mode of transport so I keep on top of any potential mechanical issues. Preventative maintenance is the best maintenance!
George from motorcycle doctors said that the engine and gearbox are in fine shape and could not find anything of concern when he did the last service.

3M paint protection stickers (clear wrap that prevents stone chips etc).
I've put some LED indicators on to the inside of the pillion pegs so that I don't have to mount anything under the exhaust, but I have a number plate hanger with indicators attached that can bolt on under the tail if you don't like the number plate/indicator setup (I think the current indicators are a lot more visible!).
I've also installed a servo eliminator to fix the issue that these bikes have with aftermarket exhausts causing the FI light to come on because the servo malfunctions.
The bad things:
While she is a fine looking machine, it does look as though she's had a low speed drop on the right hand side with frame sliders on. I also had a mishap with the sidestand folding under when taking her off the axle stand. I managed to ease her down gently, and the frame slider prevented fairing damage, but there is a little scuff on the left side engine case.
There are a couple of scuffs on the right hand mirror.
The tail-light that's in there is one of those integrated indicator ones. One row of LED's in it don't work. It's still plenty bright enough and meets WoF requirements no problem. I disabled the indicator function as I prefer to have more visible indicators out to the side. Easy enough to re-activate this if you'd like. A replacement taillight will cost you about $25 from Ebay.
There are a couple of small scuffs and scrapes. Not very noticeable unless you're looking for them, I've tried to show them as well as I can in the photos.
All in all, this is a great bike and I'll be sad to see her go, but situations change and money doesn't grow on trees :(
