Went down to Thudercross on Sat (Cheers J for getting that going!) and having now cleaned all the clay-clag off the bikes, I find that the tyres are blue. Various makes, various vintages, but blue...
Must be something in the clay, but just curious. Older tyres less blue (ancient Pirelli and past-it IRC), newer (but not new) Michelin, Brigestone and Motoz turned.

yep the thunder park clay is a different beast, my tyres always turned blue after a ride there.

We get that with some northland clays to, not the sort of stuff you want to leave on a bike unwashed.
It sets damn hard if it's like the stuff up north to.

Yep, it's done all that too. I swore I had one bike clean enough to eat off, but once it dries there are drips of bloody clay still there!
Invisible clay that stains tyres. That wasn't in the brochure.
