Im after a #14 Ventura rack, just the top bit and dont mind if its broken the mount as they all seem to do. The shorter sport version would work as well.

I have a chrome one with matching brackets for a cb1300, apparently the same bracket is use for many Hondas. I don't intend to use. If that is any use to you let me know I'll bring it over next chance we get to visit Sharry. Or maybe bring it to a sass night?
Near mint condition as Crome does not wear as easy as paint. Missing one of the lock nuts. We can discuss price when you have seen it, I am not looking for moonbeams on it.

Stupid phone / Tapatalk, apologies in advance.

I have the sport rack from my wrecked CBR900 ( the large rack was on it so is now property of the insurance company )

Free to you. ( Provided it fits, of course. )

Swings and roundabouts n all that.

Am heading up to Auckland to test ride a couple of bikes on Sunday so can probably drop it off.

If anyone has a chrome sport rack I'd be interested.

Sorry. I will hang onto it for now. Am looking at a Blackbird without a rack at the moment. Will know next week if I'm getting it. If it's a the wrong size though, I'll let you know and you can have it.

I think the reserve is $5750 but I wont go that high so maybe not this one unless the seller plays ball. He's listed it several times but never got a bid past about 5k. I think 5k is about right for a private sale. Any more than 6 and it's getting into dealer territory.

If its what you want and like this one, offer him $5500. Its a shit load of bike for the money. And to not get it seems pointless over a few hundred dollars if you really like it. You dont seem to turn bikes over a lot so long term a few dollars is no big deal.

Yeah, maybe. On the other hand, there's no real hurry and having monitored a lot of the same bikes getting passed over and re listed in the last year or so I see a lot of bikes for sale with few actually selling. When they do sell, it's usually Johnny on the spot to get something with a realistic ( low ) reserve, or it's the opposite, where people get an emotional attachment to something they want and have a bidding war with someone (who may not even be a genuine bidder) to beat someone else and pay far more than market value. Often shill bidding looks fairly obvious too. I've seen a few get bumped up in the closing minutes only to be re-listed later "due to time wasters" etc. That's the big bugbear I have with trade me. Would rather deal with a classified and do it the old fashioned way when you just offer and counter-offer till both parties either agree or walk away. Buyers market and all that.

The 1997 was the fastest of the lot too. Not that I intend to do 300kph! The blue one is in better shape and has fuel injection. If that's what a dealer wants for a '97 with slightly less kms, surely a tidier 05 with slightly more kms isn't worth much more privately? Bit of a conundrum, I think.

Buy the one you like. Ive made the mistake of buying the second option. Its easier in the long run for a few dollars.

Got a friend checking out the red one today. If all is well, I'll put a holding deposit on on it and get it on the weekend! I'll also look at the blue one this afternoon. The guy bought it for 7k from cyclespot a year ago but doesn't seem to think the dealer price is usually 2k above the private resale price. Am leaning towards the red one at the moment, provided it's as tidy as it seems. Good to have some dealer protection too. And red goes better with my helmet. :2thumbsup
